This hymnal is a treasure, containing modern praise songs and traditional hymns. I use it alongside my denominational hymnal.

A word of caution: The Celebration Hymnal is printed in two versions, using either KJV or NIV Scriptures. If Bible translation is important to your faith group, be aware that the hymnal version I received was KJV. (There was no Bible version noted in the product ad at the time of my purchase.)

I was very excited to purchase this hymnal as I play for our church, but I am very unhappy with the three-ring binder that is came in. The rings do not come together at all (none of them do) and so I cannot turn the pages easily at all.

It would be nice if amazon would take this back and send one where the binder rings actually work.

The product itself was ok. However, I did not like the terms from Amazon and I doubt if I ever order again. In the instructions it said once the product was opened it could NOT be returned. The hymnal I purchased was not the correct one. I could not identify the hymnal until it was opened. There was cardboard on both the front and back of the loose pages so it could NOT be viewed without being opened. I am a church organist wanting to purchase the loose leaf hymnal for the organ. What I received and viewed (after opening since that was the ONLY option) was for a cello. Since I do NOT play the cello this book has absolutely no value to me and it cannot be returned since it has been "opened". That was money thrown to the wind. I will not purchase from Amazon.com again with this kind of stipulation and experience. Sorry, but you lost a customer

Yup, it's the real deal. A nicely-sized hymnal that you don't have to hold open with your hands, and all the chords are clearly labeled for easy playing on piano or guitar or any instrument you want. My church already had a couple of these accompaniment versions, and they're spiral bound. I wanted to be able to practice at home without having to make xerox copies all the time, so I got my own. The one I got was the binder version, and it's great! If you want to make copies, you can easily remove individual pages, which is way easier than putting a fat book on the copy machine and risk distorting the spiral binding or tearing out pages by accident. (Of course, remember to obey all copyright laws.) With the spiral bound version, if the binding gets messed up, it's a real hassle to fix. Not so with this one. I imagine that if you open and close the binder rings often enough, they might get messed up like any other binder. To fix this, all you have to do is get a replacement binder. Also, if you want, you can even remove the hymns that you like and put them in a separate smaller binder of your own. I'm really satisfied with this product, and now I'll be able to practice more hymns more often to improve my playing.

The Celebration Hymnal for piano is great. The pages are larger than the regular hymnal so they are easier to read and they stay open when you play because of the nice ring binder. Great for practicing the songs!

If your congregation uses this hymnal and you would like to have access to the guitar chords so that you can play along, this is the book for you.

This is a nice supplement to our church hyman "The Worshiping Church, Hope Publishing, c. 1990)that we got because of the 3 ring binder aspect. This makes it especially convenient to bring a few songs to church as well as to put them on the piano for accompaniment. We got the "king James Version" (although such an option was not indicated on the Amazon web site).

Indexes are: 1. Alphabetical by Tune Name 2. Metrical 3. Authors, composers, sources, translators and arrangers 4. Topical 5. Alphabetical (Titles in regular type, 1st lines in italics.

This is an excellent resource for large or small church choirs with lots of worship and praise hymns. There are also hymn arrangements that can be used as anthems.

I just recieved my book Friday and am so thrilled with it. Not only does it have 600 songs, each of them are chorded. Since I play by chords, I will no longer have to figure out the chords and mark them in my regular song books. I play in church and this is going to be a tremendous asset to our praise and worship. Also I was impressed that songs are listed by chords and a section lists them as to be played slow, medium or fast. The book is gigantic, however it's a three ring binder that I can remove and then replace songs as I need them. Have ordered the celebration hymnal and can't wait to see if it also exceeds my expectations.

Careful to select the version you prefer. I was searching for KJV.......This was just a 'look-see' so no problem. Reviewing for church.
