These lights are MAGICAL! The description fits them perfectly -- They really do seem to "shimmer." If you're looking for run-of-the-mill, normal twinkle lights, then just go to Walmart. (I think that's why some people gave these bad reviews.) And I don't mean that in a bad way. These lights are just different, and I think they're MUCH more beautiful! I love that the twinkling looks completely random, instead of predictable like most strands. And the most amazing thing is that along with the twinkling, the entire strand very delicately, subtly, and slowly "pulses," which is what makes the whole thing shimmer. You don't even notice it at first. My husband and I were looking at them and wondering why they looked so different and beautiful, and those two reasons are why!

I noticed a reviewer said they don't twinkle, but you just have to be patient. They look like a plain strand when you first plug them in, but then after a minute they begin to warm up and start blinking.

I've been looking for the perfect delicate twinkle lights for years, and i finally found them!

These lights do twinkle. They lights stay on until you use the replacement twinkle bulbs that are included in the box...similar concept to the regular lights that come with bulbs to make the lights blink. Good deal. I'm happy with this purchase.

This string has both twinkle and non-twinkle bulbs. They take a second to start twinkling and shimmering, and the bulbs that do twinkle are nice enough.

Problem is that out of 100 bulbs only 12 twinkle. Twelve. On the whole string. It's kinda sparse.

These lights twinkle as advertised, but it would be nice if they had some kind of dimmer so that the speed of twinkle was adjustable!

I ordered these lights because I was looking for tree lights that twinkle. These do not twinkle. They are just clear lights that stay on. If you are looking for lights that twinkle, don't buy these. If you want lights that just stay on, these are fine.

These lights are soft and beautiful unlike blinking lights which I think are harsh. They look so good on my Christmas tree.

We had some shimmering lights from previous years and we always liked them. Unfortunately this year we look
all over for them on every big or small store and nobody has them. Then, of course we remembered that Amazon
has anything and everything under the sun.
We ordered them and they are just beautiful. They shimmer softly like little stars.
The only drawback is that they are more expensive
than what we paid for last year, that's why I gave them 4 stars. Nevertheless I believe they are worth it.
Next year we will order more. We recommend them.

The back of the box on this product has a bold-print warning that says, "Handling... this product exposes you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm."
