I am an autograph hound and like the excitement of the hunt. Going to the mailbox with anticipation of who's autograph is there is a rush. I bought the book, "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000" and found it to be all I wanted. I collect movie stars and entertainers. I found this book to have tons of names and addresses. I liked it because the author listed the celebrity by category AND he gave an awesome movie database website. This website is something. It is operated by Amazon.com and the data is excellent. Searches can be made by actor, director, name of movie or variety of other searches. It is great for the person who wants to know more about there favorite star. "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000" has the addresses, The website has the backup facts. This is a winning combination. Besides this combination, the book has an address guarantee. The last page of the book lists the contact at the publisher for any celebrity address update. I had one return to sender from Eddie Murphy. I called them up and I had an e-mail message in 5 minutes with the current address. The publisher has a full time staff of researchers updating celebrity addresses. They not only gave me an update, but they gave me an address that wasn't listed in the book. On with the hunt!

I am not sure who these other people are who provided reviews for this book. Most of things they say are included are simply not true. I bought this exact SAME book this Febuary and I have looked through the whole thing and there is no guarentee from the publisher that if the addresses provided don't work that you can contact them and they will give you new ones. As well there is not section that tells where celebrities have been sighted. As for the accuracy of the address, well I have recieved 4 undeliverable letters back already, which I sent out the day I bought this book a month ago! If you are looking for accuracy in addresses, save you money and buy one of the other one's that Amazon offers. Perhaps they are more correct, and you won't be wasting you money like you would be by purchasing this book. And don't worry, I will be writing to the author and publisher to tell them what I think!

I am a big sports fan and "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000" is loaded with sports names and addresses. You can't trust autograph dealers to have authentic signed sports memorablia (I heard that up to 75% of the items offered over the internet and by dealers is fake) so I have decided to contact sport celebrities by mail. I am after Mark Mcguire's, Sammy Sosa's and other great player's autographs. This book has all the names and addresses I could ask for. The names are arranged in a easy to find manner and I like the Hall of Fame sections the best. I live in the U.S. heartland and I might try traveling to the football summer training camps that are listed for in-person autographs. This book is a must for the sport celebrity autograph collector.

I'm amazed. "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000" is GREAT. I was looking for sports names and this book is loaded. What surprised me is that the book lists the NFL summer training camps and I plan to get in-person autographs of 3 training camps in my area. Good job on "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000."

I have been collecting autographed pictures for over 5 years now and have a collection of over 200. I was looking forward to working on my hobby, with the aid of this book, this summer. Within a month of receiving this book I had sent out 200 requests for autographs. I am sad to say that I have received 48 of them back and am still receiving more back each week. Several addresses were wrong..no such number, no such street.., that star is not at the agency listed, some were declined, and more reasons were listed on the envelopes. The cost of the returned postage has far exceeded the cost and worth of this book. Try another to really get something worthwhile.

If you are a kid and you want addresses buy this it has thousands of great address of the brightest stars.

I bought The Celebrity Address Handbook and Autograph Guide 2000 about a month ago, and I mail out about two or three autograph requests a week, and now I wait by my mailbox for the autographs to come in. In this short period of time, I have received autographs from Olivia Newton-John, Betty Ford, Gloria Steinem, James D. Watson (discoverer of DNA), Gray Davis, Sally Ride, Buzz Aldrin, Gary Trudeau, Sandra Day O'Conner, Harmon Killebrew, J.K. Rowling, Harrison Ford, James Garner, Angela Lansbury, and even Bill Gates!!! This book contains a wealth of information that is ESSENTIAL to any autograph collector!

Unless you like the idea of blowing your hard earned cash for a totally worthless, inaccurate waste of paper; and relish the idea of further wasting money for envelopes and postage to write to nonexistent or way outdated addresses, don't bother with this book. And look carefully at the other Amazon customer "reviews" of this book, and take the time to see who has written what (see the more about me entries), and lo and behold, what do you find? You'll need to decide for yourself, but it sure looks to me like the only good reviews of this book appear to be SHILL reviews (I wonder *who* wrote those?). Too bad the rating system doesn't allow negative figures or I would have rated this one minus 5 stars.

I've tried a lot of different address books in the past and by far, "The Celebrity Address Handbook & Autograph Guide 2000" provides the most complete and up-to-date celebrity directory. I collect all types of autographs and do some fund raising for charitable organizations. This book has the widest selection of celebnrities today. It has excellent references to the internet movie database and lists the accomplishments of the celebrities. This book belongs on anyone's bookshelf who wants celebrity addresses.
