This holder is made completely from plastic. Except for the screw, a metal holding plate beneath the rod, and the rubber boot. For the cheaper cost, I find it more attractive than the standard clamp.

Fully unscrewed the mouth is 1-1/4" wide. The C-clamp is bent slightly inward, so the screw plate is not flat with the surface. As you tighten the C-clamp it expands a little and the screw plate will sit flat to the surface. At that point stop tightning as you will further distend the C-clamp and possibly damage the plastic threads. Repeated over distending could damage the C-clamp over time. About three or four turns after surface contact is all you need. This makes wig styling on your mannequin head much easier.

The locking ring for the rod resembles a ship's Tiller wheel. It appears to give a 40 degree slant in any direction. Rotate the wheel counter-clockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten. Again, no need to over tighten as the rod has a ball with little dimples for gripping. Over tightning can wear them off. Mannequinn heads simply aren't that heavy - even with large wigs.

It should hold any mannequin head nicely and firmly. It will last a long time providing you don't over tighten anything.

I wash and style wigs on the side - I need a product that will hold up and get the job done. When I bought a clamp from another store it came cracked and was very difficult to adjust. This one is great! gets the job done and holds the head in place. It's easy to adjust and take on and off the table.

So when this item arrived and I felt how lightweight it was I thought "Oh boy this is going to break in about a week" but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's lightweight yet durable and it does exactly what its supposed to do. Now most of the furniture in my home is very thick (besides the dinner table and I'm not going to do hair there :{ ) so I got creative and decided to attach it to the ironing board lol (it sounds ghetto I know, but hey do what you can with what you have) and it works perfectly. I use it to hold the mannequin head while the hair is drying, I am able to color, cut, and style the hair without any issues. It's well worth the price which is why I brought 2, 1 for at home and 1 for the road. I may just buy a few more to keep in stock just in case....

The holder is made of plastic, so it doesn't grip very well on table surfaces. If you try to tighten it up some, it just keeps skidding. It holds the mannequin well though and gives a full rotation which is nice. However, if you pull too hard on it, the holder is bound to slip off. If the holder were made of metal, then you'll get a vice-like grip.

This holds a head well, with an adjustable angle. It didn't fit perfectly into the head I have (Bridgette), but perhaps it isnt supposed to? The head is finest chinesium, so it might not be the highest quality anyway. Its not a big enough problem that it is going to slip off. I am using the head for a photography target. This base helps get the head placed in the right direction.

Tightening the clamp down to a table was a bit of a chore as the threaded shaft didnt free spin, and it took a lot of turns to get it open enough to put on my table.

This was inexpensive, and it gets the job done! Why spend more, if you don't have to?

HOW IN THE WORLD AM I SUPPOSED TO USE A MANEQUIN HOLDER WHEN I NEVER GOT THE MANEQUIN I ORDERD,LAST MONTH, TO GO WITH IT? MAYBE MR FIGUORA OR WHATEVER THE HELL THE SELLERS NAME IS CAN ANSWER ME THAT ONE?
