Learn to put the power of celebrity to work for your business,
By Scott Fox - Author of Internet Riches & e-Ric... (Los Angeles, California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Celebrity Leverage: Insider Secrets to Getting Celebrity Endorsements, Instant Credibility and Star-Powered Publicity, or How to Make Your Business - Plus Yourself - Rich and Famous (Paperback)
Jordan McCauley has written a first-rate guide to boosting your business through the power of celebrity endorsements. The book shines a welcome light on the business of celebrity. It can teach you how associating your brand and products with celebrities can increase your credibility, make your products more desirable, and even allow you to raise your prices.
Based on his own experience as publisher of the Celebrity Black Book and building the highly successful [...] web site, Jordan explains in detail how you can contact celebrities and convince them to help you. The book is full of the practical details that you'll need to know to attract celebrity involvement, whether you are new to the Hollywood scene or an experienced PR or agency pro. Tactics explained in the book (often through case studies or expert interviews) include how to: - find contact info for celebrities - get past gatekeepers to reach celebrities - arrange product placement in movies, TV and videos - hire celebrities for events or endorsements The second half of the book also provides guidance on how to build your own brand to make yourself into a celebrity. Jordan suggests that writing a book, getting booked on TV and radio, and being quoted in newspapers are all additional steps toward positioning yourself as an expert and eventual celeb yourself. Valuable lessons for marketers and business owners in today's age of celebrity. Scott Fox Author, [...]

This celebrity go-getter creates an uproar of excitement and application when in the right hands. This book is all about actionable efforts that lead to boundless success if in the hands of someone who's hungry for it! Superb for getting any product, book or service in the right hands. I'm IN LOVE!!! Period. As a partner for this outstanding resource check out The Magic Touch: How to make $100,000 per year as a massage Therapist by Meagan R. Holub. Chapters 4 and 8 of The Magic Touch really get into some practical, right now kind of application that service professionals can use to build a celebrity geared business. 5 stars for both!

This book was more diverse than I thought it would be. It has many ideas for the entrepreneur to get endorsements and publicity from celebrities. (Example: giving jewelry to a celebrity in hopes they will wear it and tell who made it.) I did receive some really good idea generating tips from the book that I can use daily in my own business. Since my business is mainly a service business, it didn't generate as many ideas for me as if I had a product like jewelry, but it was helpful.

This book is terrible and a waste of money,

I always hesitate to give a book a bad review, because as an author I realize the effort that goes into any book, fiction or non-fiction. However, this book is so bad in every aspect that I must give it one star and warn potential buyers. The kindle version is a mess - poorly converted from the print version to the point of being unreadable at times. It stops in mid-sentence, then there is a few paragraphs what obviously was a call-out box, then a couple of kindle pages later the text picks up. As far as information, the book is very much geared toward getting celebs to visit your small business or buy your product. If that is your goal in reading it, you may find it worthwhile to wade through the other useless information but even that is marginal. Much of the book is in interview Q&A form with so-called experts in contacting celebs. Poorly written and uninformative. Finally, there are way too many referrals to web sites and other books you can buy. So if you want to pay $9 for a self-promoting, poorly written book that is not formatted properly for the kindle, this is the one to get.

Probably the worst book I've ever come across. I typically do not fall into ad book traps but it came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors Dan Kennedy. My advice would be save your money and read the cover. The entire book is a about how celebrities help brands (which is common knowledge) , oppose to how to get celebrities to help YOUR brand. But on the cover is a useful resource known as , contactanycelebrity.com which is a useful way to contact celebrities...for a fee of course.
