Mandy's layout is a realization of a boyhood dream. His affection for Lionel trains started early, and never really faded away, despite embarking on a highly successful film, singing and TV career. Mandy wanted a layout that would capture parts of this family's life, and that's exactly what he has created (with help from sons Gideon and Isaac, wife Kathryn, and layout designer Rich Roman).

The large, scaled-detailed layout features a freight yard, mountains animated carnival, operating ski lift, scale structures, and parallel mainlines with sweeping curves.

Many operates a mix of Lionel's Modern Era, including the 2343 Santa Fe F3 re-issue from 1996, Amtrack GG-1, 490 C&O Hudson, Illinois Central 8580 F3 passenger set from 1985, and a 2380 NYC Geep. Eric Cornwell, Mandy's stage lighting designer, used state-of-the-art theatrical lighting techniques to create spectacular effects. Plus an interview with Mandy.
