About the Brand

In 1969, 19-year-old Mo Siegel and his friend Wyck Hay found a bountiful harvest of wild herbs growing around Boulder, Colorado. With friends and wives helping, they picked the herbs and produced 500 pounds of their first blend, called MO's 36 Herb Tea. It was packaged in hand-sewn muslin bags and sold to a local health food store. Hay's brother, John, joined the partnership in 1971. The entrepreneurs set up shop in an old barn outside of Boulder, and they expanded their market to stores throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and the East Coast. The partners also began buying herbs rather than picking everything themselves, and the dream of a national herb tea company slowly began to materialize. This dream was reinforced when Red Zinger Herb Tea was introduced in January 1972 and was an immediate sensation. It remains one of the best-selling Celestial teas.

The company continued to grow and revolutionize the tea industry. Herb teas had previously been perceived as only of medicinal significance, but Celestial Seasonings introduced herb teas as flavorful, healthy beverages, virtually creating the modern tea industry. Celestial Seasonings solidified its sources for obtaining ingredients, such as hibiscus flowers and chamomile, by working closely with herb farmers from the Pacific Northwest to the exotic Far East. This forward thinking attracted the attention of food industry giant Kraft, Inc., which bought Celestial Seasonings in 1984. Kraft's guidance brought Celestial Seasonings to the attention of new consumers, further strengthening its lead in the herb tea industry while also introducing a gourmet line of traditional, or black, teas. In September 1988, Kraft sold Celestial Seasonings back to its management, returning the tea company to independent ownership. The company remains headquartered in Boulder, in the corporate facility on Sleepytime Drive.

The company, in 1991, experienced the exciting return of its original founder and leader, Mo Siegel, as chairman and chief executive officer. Since then, the company has expanded upon its herbal expertise bringing to market successful lines of Green, Wellness, Organic, and Chai teas. In 2000, Celestial joined forces with the Hain Food Group, maker of many top-selling natural foods brands. Today, serving more than 1.2 billion cups of tea per year, Celestial Seasonings is the largest herb tea manufacturer in North America and is expanding internationally at a rapid rate. Assured of Celestial Seasonings leadership position in the herb tea industry, Mo retired in September 2002 to fulfill another dream: to finish hiking the last set of 14,000-foot Colorado mountains he has yet to climb.

Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice Herbal Tea

Is this for real? I read the box: no calories, no sodium, no sugar, no carbohydrates, caffeine free. This does not taste like any herbal tea I have had before.

The cinnamon packs zing, the apple is sweet, and the chamomile provides the tongue appeal. This is a full bodied tea, almost like drinking espresso.

Without the caffeine.

Delicious. I had no idea that an herbal tea could be so satisfying.

Like savoring the hard candy shell of a candy apple without the mess or the calories.

Ingredients;

Cinnamon - Yes, overwhelmingly.

Hibiscus - That explains the sweetness. When I lived in the Virgin Islands we would pluck hibiscus blooms and suck the nectar from the flowers' bases.

Chamomile - The alkaline feel of the tea on my tongue comes from the chamomile.

Roasted Chicory - Chicory, yes, that provides the full bodied, peppery sensation.

Orange Peel - More zing!

Roasted Carob - I can see how they layered this tea to give it so much weight.

Natural Cinnamon and Apple Flavors and Natural Flavors - Okay, I'll admit that sounds like they added a drop of this flavored syrup and and drop of that.

I don't care.

This is great herbal tea.

My wife and I love herbal teas and we just really love cinnamon. This tea is excellent to have a warm cup of in the evening as you unwind and relax. The scent of the apples and cinnamon is just aromatic and the tea warms you on those cold fall and winter evenings. I joke about eating a cookie with my tea but I am serious. My daughter-in-law makes the most delicious oatmeal, cinnamon, raisin, walnut cookies you ever had with Splenda just for me. They are great with a cup of this tea while just relaxing with a good book.

Herbal teas seem to relax me and calm my nerves and this is probably one of my two favorites. This product is caffeine free, gluten free, contains no calories (Except for the cookie I eat with it) and Kosher Certified. I recommend it to you as an excellent product.

I have posted several photos of the packaging and the nutrition label for your review.

After reading all the positive reviews for this tea, I decided to pick it up.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this tea. It really does taste like red hot candy, in liquid form. It is a perfect winter time drink -- it really warms you up!
I took off a star just because I really couldn't find much apple flavor in this tea. But no matter -- it's still a great tea!
I am going to try this as iced tea, and also added to apple juice to make a nice homemade spiced apple cider (as another reviewer suggested). I would definitely repurchase this tea again!

I drink a lot of tea and I've tried many different brands and flavors. This is one of my most favorite teas. My only complaint is that the wonderful spice flavor it's quite strong enough for me. I love the smell of the spices; the cinnamon, cloves and other spices. The blend between the apple flavor and cinnamon and spices is about equal; no one over powers the others. Other brands I've tried are way more apple or no apple at all (depending on the brand) but none I've tried have the blend of spices, which I love in this tea. I really think liking the flavor of a tea is personal preference, but If you're a tea drinker I think this one is worth a try.

This tea is really comforting. It's a lot of cinnamon, and some apple in the background. I think it can get extremely spicy if you aren't careful when steeping it though. I microwave a huge 8-10 oz mug filled with water, then steep for 5 minutes. It definitely doesn't need any added sugar. It's sweet by itself, almost too sweet if you let it steep for too long. I

This tea kept my sanity when I knew I had to give up soda and flavored drinks forever. (Too much dye, sugar, and artificial sweeteners.) I am not a tea drinker because it has always tasted like leaves or has just been too bland to enjoy. This tea saved my flavorless days from the hum drum effects of being a tap water junkie. It is so sweet! Like, I really feel like it should have traces of sugar in it but it doesn't! I drink it all day long and it not only tastes amazing but it calms my nerves and the stress intensity of my days at work drops drastically. (Coming from someone diagnosed with anxiety and not taking medicine for it.) And at night if I drink three cups in a row it knocks me out--just as good as any sleep aid I've tried! This stuff is like magic in a cup. It's flavor and sanity for all those who thought they were doomed to an eternity of tap water, and it produces a natural calm that doesn't come from any questionable pharmacy pill. I'd give it six stars if I could.
