I love the teas made by Celestial Seasonings. I've been to the factory in Colorado twice and find the tour to be very fascinating and interesting..

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this tea!, November 17, 2006
This review is from: Celestial Seasonings Herb Tea, Lemon Zinger, Tea Bags, 40-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
Ah, it's a definite American story - in 1969 friends Mo Siegel and Wyck Hay of Colorado began selling the herbal teas that they had previously only made for themselves. From such small beginnings came that famous tea company - Celestial Seasonings.

Among Celestial Seasonings' many products is Lemon Zinger, an herbal infusion that is based on lemons, hibiscus, rosehips and lemon grass. As you can tell from those ingredients, this tea lives up to its name, having a real lemony zing to it!

It wasn't too long ago that I broke out of my black tea-only phase, and began drinking herbal infusions; well this tea came as a real revelation to me. It's good hot, and I really enjoy it when I have a cold or similar illness. But, it also makes a great iced tea, with its lemoniness providing some great relief on a hot summer day. Overall, I love this tea, and give it my highest recommendations!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lemony and decaffeinated!, September 14, 2006

This tea smells like lemon sours! What a great fragrance. This auburn shaded brew tastes lemony with a slight hint of lemon peel bitterness. I imagine it would taste good with some sweetener. Pretty good but not my favorite.

Celestial Seasonings gets extra points for their packaging: they utilize 100% natural recycled paperboard in their boxes and they don't package each tea bag individually. Instead they use a system of a waxed paper bag inside the box that stays shut when you fold it. It keeps the bags fresh and utilizes less packaging than individually wrapping each bag. The art they use on each box is beautiful as are the quotes and information they put on every surface.

Quote from the box:

"The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to ourselves." Montaigne.

5.0 out of 5 stars My basic, all-purpose beverage for 15+ years, January 20, 2008

It's been well-documented that almost everyone needs to increase their water intake. I'm one of those people who don't like to drink plain water, so this enables me to get my liquid in a way that I enjoy.

My parents considered soft drinks an item to be consumed as a treat, thank goodness - thus I never developed the habit of consuming those sugar/calorie-laden beverages from dawn to dusk as I see so many others do, particularly younger people (I am 55). I do like my black decaf coffee in the morning but when I want a cold drink I turn to fruit juice or, most often, some Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger.

I don't know if Lemon Zinger's healthier than regular tea, other than being decaf, but I enjoy the flavor, which is like regular iced tea with a squeeze of lemon. For some reason the lemon flavoring makes it unnecessary for me to add any sugar, just as when I have regular iced tea at a restaurant.

This tea provides a luscious and refreshing break from your daily grind and helps you relax as well. It's got a great lemon taste to it that is not overpowering and if you let it steep about three minutes you're bound to enjoy it as much as I do!

Each bag contains the natural ingredients of dried whole lemons with hibiscus, rosehips, and lemon grass. There are no artificial ingredients! The stringless tea bags can easily be removed from your cup whenever you want just by using a spoon or anything similar to get them out of the cup. Stir the tea bag around and up and down a bit while it's in your cup before you drink it.

The tea is also caffeine free, which is a plus for those of us who don't want caffeine in our diets. That is something I always prefer.

If you like a lemon flavor to your tea, this is highly recommended! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the all-time classic herbal teas!, July 2, 2007
By
This review is from: Celestial Seasonings Herb Tea, Lemon Zinger, Tea Bags, 40-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
Lemon Zinger is one of our staple teas. It makes a light and refreshing iced tea to drink on lazy summer afternoons, and it also makes a good warm tea as well. It's especially good as a hot toddy, just add a capful or two of bourbon to the tea and mix well. I've soothed many a scratchy throat with that combination and it works like a charm. The iced tea can be easily made by just taking three or four bags and placing them into a pitcher of cold water. Let it sit in your 'fridge for several hours and it will come out perfectly. You can also make a nice sun tea by letting the pitcher warm in the sun for an hour or two.

The taste is smooth and inviting. The herbal balance is extremely good, as it seems to be with all of the Celestal Seasonings teas. The rose hips and hibiscus really do a nice job of balancing out the lemony backbone of this tea. A highly recommended classic.
