Experience a Guide to Empowerment,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
Wouldn't it be great if you had a guidebook to help you figure out your life's purpose, your relationships, and the path to create a brighter future? James Redfield's "The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide" is one book that can assist you with these goals. Use the excercises in this book to determine how your family of origin continues to influence your goals and dreams. Learn how to identify and end power struggles. Although many of these provocative excercises help you explore where you have been, they will also inspire you to see where you would next like to go--spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Some of the exercises are worth doing more than once; for they provide new insights over time. The "Experiential Guide" is well worth adding to your library, even if you haven't read "The Celestine Prophecy." As a tool for self-enlightenment and empowerment, the "Experiential Guide" stands just fine on its own

Wonderful!,

This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
After reading several reviews on here, I felt that I had to respond. This book has changed my life. I am Catholic, but this book does NOT denounce religion. Rather it enhances it. What Redfield was saying in the book was that there are religious leaders who would feel threatened by people experienceing spiritual fulfillment OUTSIDE of the church.I can only tell you what I've experienced and I experienced several of the things mentioned in the book before I even read it. It's uplifting and it gives one a different way to get closer to God. It is NOT saying that you can think of a shiny new car and "poof!" there it is. If more people were to follow the insights, perhaps there wouldn't be as much violence and corruption in our society as there is. This book talks of how peace between people can be acheived. Isn't that what Christianity and other religions are striving for? If a path offers peace and love as God is trying to teach us, isn't that okay? Some paths are better for some people as others are better for other people. But as long as they all lead to the same place, isn't that the goal? The Celestine Prophecy does not negate any organized religion. Perhaps, it's not for everyone, but that's okay. Just because one person is Catholic and another is Buddist does not mean that one person is right and the other wrong. How arrogant to think such a thing!

This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
I was introduced to this book by my friend and i couldn't put it down for 2 days until i had finished it. It was so good that when i finished reading it i went out and bought "The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential guide" and "The Tenth Insight". Which i also thought were extremely interesting. Even though it has been a couple of years since i read it i still find it amzing hen i meet someone else who has read it and how it has changed their life.

It changed my life!!,

This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
I read 'The Celestine Prophecy'in 1994, a few months after my boyfriend had died. It was the day before New Years Eve and I was feeling very lonely. I was at a very low point in my life and looking for something - though at the time i didnt know what it was...it just happened to be 'The Celestine Prophecy'!! To some that might sound completely bonkers but i believe that the book was the thing that changed my life and made me look at life without the dark cloth that had been veiling it. Some may criticise the book for being a little to 'alternative' but if it has the power to make a very sad, depressed person optimistic for the future then it is wonderful. The book made me think about the bigger picture and perhaps the meaning of life!! What a statement to make!! For me it certainly was true and perhaps it may be for you too. Happy reading xxxx

This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
I really enjoyed the exercises and all the wonderful references to other good works. You can take the material further here and you can really study the Celestine Prophecy with this book! Its worth buying and then looking up all the neat things that James Redfield is talking about. Great for beginning seekers who want an adventure to discover truth. Very good primer for philsophy and psychology students alike!

I recently finished reading The Celestine Prophecy. A friend of mine leant me the book and I could not put it down. It brought to light a lot of the feelings that I could not put into words and it honestly changed my life. I look at everything as a whole, not just as one thing. I would recomend that everyone Christian or not read this book. There are truly no words to describe how you feel after you finish, and I go back and read all of the time now. I love this book.

though a lousy writer, one must appreciate his optimism...,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
Nobody can deny that Redfield is a lousy writer. his "adventure scenes" lack any form of detail or realism. A sixth grader could have written a better plot and flesh it out more. However, this is not the reason that Redfield's books sold so well. He is a philosopher at heart, not a writer. Some of Redfield's insights are far fetched (the ninth, for example, is far too idealistic, and even a civilization full of lifelong disciples of the insights could never follow through with it). However, others could certainly hold relevance to people, depending on their situation. Although often unapplicable in many peoples' cases, denying that Redfield has good ideas would be completely racist, or, actually, "religionist". His theories comprise a religion in and of their selves. Anyone who says that this religion is impossible is actually, indirectly, saying that their religion is completely correct above the possibility of any other religions. Anyway, some of his insights are useful to keep in mind as one goes through the world, as they give insight (excuse the double meaning) into how to treat people and to get above the rat race of life in which people take their happiness at others' expense. Although nobody can agree with everything he says, everybody can find some thread of his to keep in mind for life, and so, therefore, should be required reading for all.

EXCELLENT,

This review is from: The Celestine Prophecy: An Experiential Guide (Paperback)
This was the best book I have ever read. It gave me something that I could use in everyday life. I have since read The Celestine Prophecy again when I felt lost in my life and it gave me a new perspective. Great reading and great learning experience. I have since given it to my sister who has read it and given it to a friend - I can't wait to get it back and read it for a third time - excellent.

These 2 books have helped me achieve more in my life. I understand much more. Being young (15) trying to get my friends to read is difficult. They don't understand and don't want to learn. The CP is a challenge for us all. Even when you can't really find what you're looking for.
