The absolute BEST way to upgrade your amp!, May 2, 2011

I decided to splurge and put one of these in my old Vox VR30 (Older version of the Vox AC30VR) Although i had previously swapped out the greenback in my AC15 for an Eminence Red Fang, i missed the old greenback crunch. i have recently been playing more rock, as opposed to only Beatles music like i used to play. so i put in the new speaker and a new tube and WOW!!! this amp can do everything from Boston to Nirvana, and back again! the clean headroom WAS HALFED, even with a 12at7 tube in my amp. but i hear the speaker just needs to break in more.
All in all, if you are deciding between this and other speakers, go for it! unless you can afford the Celestion G10 Gold (best 10" ever made, period)But the gold lacks the raging distortion that the greenback has
if price isnt an issue, and you love classic rock, go for it, but if you prefer clean sounds and beatles music, go for the Weber Blue pup or the G10 Gold.
