Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Celestron 71208 Noble 10 x 28 Roof Prism Waterproof Binoculars is truly a work of beauty and one of the best values in premium, compact roof prism binoculars you can find today. Noble Series binoculars are known for their solid compact design and smooth precision, high-performance phase coated optics, and the Celestron 71208 is no exception.

All Noble models -- whether for the serious bird watcher, the avid hunter, or the outdoor sports enthusiast -- are rubber-covered, nitrogen-filled, and fully waterproof. You'll never have to worry about the harsh elements when you have a Noble at your side. And with a long eye relief for eyeglass and sunglass wearers, and an incredible near focus that is perfect for bird watchers, Noble Series binoculars are simply hard to beat.

The Celestron 71208 features a 10x magnification and an objective lens diameter of 28 millimeters, giving it a 2.8-millimeter exit pupil. (The exit pupil size -- the diameter of the objective lens divided by the magnification -- determines the amount of light available to your eye. The larger the exit pupil, the brighter the image obtained will be. A three-millimeter exit pupil is generally sufficient for daytime use, five-millimeters is suitable for daytime and twilight, and seven-millimeters is generally necessary for maximum nighttime or astronomy use.) All Noble Series models also come with Celestron's No Fault Limited Lifetime Warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Premium 10x28 binoculars, April 28, 2010

This review is from: Celestron Noble 10x28 Roof Prism Waterproof Binoculars (Electronics)
I have used these Celestron Noble 10x28 binoculars for about a week now and remain as impressed as I was when I first got them. The clarity, contrast and color performance is exceptional over the central 3/4 of the field. They do lose some sharpness near the edge but less so than most binoculars I have tried. They are just the right size to be easily carried without any discombort - even though the strap is rather thin, yet they have a nice solid feel. The controls all operate easily. I haven't tested the waterproof or fogproof claims but they seem very well constructed and so I do not doubt those claims. I wish there were an 8x version as well as 10x as 10x is at, or sometimes beyond, my limit to hold steady. Despite the 28mm objectives the image is plenty bright and they seem less succeptable to "blackout" on part of the image than much larger bins when not placed relative to the eyes properly. Unfortuntely, they seem to be no longer available new.Celestron Noble 10x28 Roof Prism Waterproof Binoculars
