However, the single most important criterion in performance will always be the quality of the optics. Celestron delivers optical excellence through careful consideration of quality in the glass and lens coatings used, precision manufacturing processes, and uncompromising quality control.
The Outland Waterproof Series from Celestron is a spectacular value in roof prism binoculars. Sleek, modern styling with rubber covering for a secure and comfortable grip. High performance optics feature BAK-4 prisms and multi-coatings to ensure high contrast and resolution. Great for hunters but well suited to any sport or nature activity. All models are waterproof for use in all weather conditions.

Amazing Binoculars!,

This review is from: Celestron Outland 8X42 Waterproof Binoculars with Rubber Coating & Comfort Grip (Electronics)
I have so many good things to say about these binoculars. First of all, they come with a lifetime no fault warranty. This means if you break them, or if they break themselves, ever, you can get them replaced for free! Even if it your fault! This is amazing!Second, the optical quality of these Bak 4 roof prism binoculars is unparalleled for anything less than double the price. The ergonomics are nearly perfect- not too heavy, excellent balance, and the eye pieces have extenders that block glare and reduce eye fatigue. These are as good as the Nikon Monarchs for 1/4th the price. The have fully coated optics for better low light resolution, and they have a long eye relief which make them less fatiguing to use. Overall, these may very well be the best binoculars on the planet for less than $100, and I can say this because I have been researching binoculars for the last 6 months, and I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering so I know what goes into making a good binocular. Sure the $1500 Swarovski's are better, but not by much!

It's the optics,

I won't go into too much details. I have two of these, which I purchased after my son started getting interested in birds. The optics are simply bad. The alignment of the lenses is bad. Looking through the lenses I can clearly see that the components in the two units are in different positions. The lenses themselves are bad and impurities are easily visible. And the mechanisms are bad; when trying to focus on an object, most of the image remains out of focus. I even had one of the two units replaced by Amazon shortly after I received it and the replacement wasn't any better. Six months later I decided we had to replace them. They now sit in a drawer most of the time. I would be too embarrassed to even give them away to someone, knowing how bad they are.

Very pleased with these binoculars. The first two pair were damaged due to poor packaging from the seller and I eventually got new ones through Celeston direct. Celestrons customer service was very good. Happy with product and service.
