This review is from: Love, Celibacy & Inner Marriage (Studies in Jungian Psychology by Jungian Analysts) (Paperback)
For anyone seeking to hang on to his or her faith in Christianity in these troubled times, Jungian psychology offers hope. As Jungian analyst and priest, John P. Dourley is well equipped to lead troubled souls across the bridge to where theology, philosophy and psychology come together. Love, Celibacy and the Inner Marriage begins with an overview of the psyche as Carl Jung perceived it,illuminates the processes of interiorization and relativation that lead, ultimately, to divinization. It is not light reading; his sentences are long and the subject is daunting. Yet it is a good counterpoint to fundamentalist Protestantism and reactionary Catholicism which characterizes much of Christianity today.
