It is not a full replacement for my laptop, but for travel is great.

With ssh, web browsing, and the occasional office app working well over bluetooth and an 8+ hour battery life, it's great.

This device is the perfect companion to my PDA, and as others have observed, I no longer need to carry a laptop.

The Celio fits perfectly for the times when I need to travel around for the day (for many meetings or while my wife is shopping while we're traveling) and don't want to worry about lugging a laptop, charger, etc - even vs the ultra-lights I usually carry. With ssh, web browsing, and the occasional office app working well over bluetooth and an 8+ hour battery life, it's great. The only problem is that phones that are native-VGA either run in lower res on the Redfly or the newer ones (Touch/Touch Pro) don't work at all (as of Oct 2008 but they're working on it).

The combination of an AT&T Tilt and the Redfly is a simple substitute for a laptop for 90% of the time. The Redfly is nothing more than a big screen and keyboard for your phone - all the files, processing and data connection stay on the phone. So no problems with which file is where...and no need to find a WiFi hotspot for the laptop. Only criticism is the case, which provides no real protection; fortunately there's a great custom case available at [...]

So far I have to say I am impressed with the build quality, fit & finish and the overall concept. I have been using some type of external keyboard with all of my pocket pcs over the years. I have been using the Redfly for 3-4 weeks now. All I can say at this point is "WOW", I wasn't sure this was going to be the equivalent of an external BT keyboard, let alone surpass the functionality I was used to. The Redfly has definiteley made traveling without a laptop more practical. The boot up time is fast and I find myself using it a lot more than any external keyboard I have previously used.

This device is the perfect companion to my PDA, and as others have observed, I no longer need to carry a laptop. My primary needs are to check email and occasionally work on documents or spreadsheets. While email was somewhat useful using the keyboard & display on the PDA (a Verizon branded HTC, the VX6800) it's certainly much easier with the Redfly, and mobile Excel & Word are actually usable! I love this thing!
