The Essence of Healing.,
By
This review is from: Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (Hardcover)
Cell-Level Healing beautifully and clearly describes how to bridge the gap between logical, linear, scientific thought and the fluid energy of spiritual healing. This book should be read not only by those who seek an expanded spiritual path, but also by all physicians, scientists, and students of healing seeking to fine tune their intuition and find explanations for many of the "mysteries" of healing. Joyce Hawkes brilliantly shares with the reader her clear understanding of cellular structure and function and how that blends with the essence of the dynamic vital energy that animates all living things. Another important message in the book is that all who seek wellness need not yield to a specific protocol or theory, but instead should honor their uniqueness by taking personal responsibility for their own healing. I encourage the reader to read and re-read the entire book, to take no phrase or picture out of its unique context, and to contemplate their meaning. I am a medical doctor and I pray that the information in Cell-Level Healing be integrated into the core curricula of all medical schools.

More on energy healing than cellular healing,

Joyce Whitely Hawkes is an especially compassionate and effective healer. In her small book (both in dimension and pages - 158 including photos, appendix and index) she shares wonderful stories and great visualisations. For this reason I gave the book a general rating of 4 stars. I was disappointed however; for me personally, the book earned only 3 stars. This was because the author chooses to share very little of her expertise and experience as a cell-biologist, explaining that she could not bring her scientific thought processes into healing. She maintains that intuitive processes are more appropriate. Fair enough. But the book is promoted on the strength of her scientific credentials, not her NDE, which has influenced her healing practice far more.
In my view, the author's intuitive approach to healing need not mean that cellular description and explanation must be excluded from her account; in fact it is what would make her book unique - and very different from other faith/energy healing texts written by non-scientists. Here is a woman who, for years, observed the inner universe of the human body! More than just giving brief references, could she not have taken us on that journey with her in some way? Writers such as Candice Pert, Bruce Lipton and Carl Simonton combine both scientific and intuitive paradigms very ably. Some readers, not wanting the intrusion of "academic" ideas, may prefer this approach, needing only the reassurance of Joyce Whitely Hawkes' biography and credentials, impressive as they are. But I wanted more: specifically to gain some understanding, in the healing process, of what I am actually co-operating with - not only energy and spirit on which the author concentrates, but also the tangible, cellular community that is my body. An illustrative 'map' of some sort would be a great asset. References to meridian-based therapies such as EDMR are frustratingly brief (unless the reader is already familiar with them). EFT, the ultimate in energetic self-help (and growing exponentially on an international scale) is not mentioned at all. Having said all this, I should add that I found a number of valuable pointers - for example, the idea that not everyone responds positively to the traditional colours of the chakras - something I have found arbitrary in other energy healers' explanations. I like the author's concept of a personal "soul signature" and it makes sense that its manifestation as colour can be as unique as our fingerprints. If short on information, this book is worth reading - and keeping - for its affirmative value alone.

Attracted to this book since I was in the medical field and have been involved in energy healing for years. Could have included more medical facts, but nonetheless, author gives "practical" exercises anyone can do, along with adequate explanations of "why" they work. I dog-earned, underlined, and copied some of the colored pictures with affirmations on them to post where I could see them. Having received just prior to another back surgery, I reworked some of her visualizations/affirmations to personalize for my situation. Had such a minute amount of blood loss during very long surgery, the doctor was astounded. Lots of applicable information in this beautifully illustrated and profound book. Cellular memory and consciousness has been around for some time but maybe the credibility of the author will put this book into the hands of medical professionals who can best utilize this information for their patients for more dramatic healing results.

Highly recommend this wonderful book!,
This review is from: Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (Hardcover)
What a blessing this book is! I thoroughly enjoyed reading Cell-Level Healing and found it inspirational. Joyce Hawkes demonstrates that we can each actively participate in the healing processes that can occur in our body, mind, and spirit. The exercises are simple to do, yet extremely helpful and beneficial. They have allowed me to work deeper within the cells of my body connecting to a beautiful place where it feels like the soul could reside.

Healing from the Inside OUT,

This review is from: Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (Hardcover)
The strenth of this little gem of a book is the reminder that the body has the power to heal itself and that our cells can renew and regregenerate. This is excellent info for persons living with neurological conditions like dystonia, which is what I have. It is based on solid findings and offers pratical ways to come in touch with your inner power.

An elegantly simple, yet powerful, book,
This review is from: Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (Hardcover)
I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in helping themselves or others to activate a healing response. The author combines prose, photographs, drawings and practical applications in order to lead the reader step by step through the concepts of cell level healing. Readers of this elegantly simple, yet powerful book, will easily walk over the bridge from the soul to the cell as they move from the book's beginning to its end.
As a Reiki Master, I found that the book provided a framework for those times when I "feel" my hands working deep within a client's body or "see" the inner structures or processes of a client's body.

A Small Book Packed with Profound Healing Exercises,

This little book is the "how do I?" to increase your healing power -- for yourself, for others. While you might be tempted to pooh-pooh the information presented, the credentials of the author, who moved from atheistic scientist to gifted spiritual healer, will give you confidence to try and succeed at spiritual healing. And, no, you don't have to give up on every other form of healing. In fact, according to Dr. Hawkes, you should not. She believes a variety of healing modalities have times and circumstances where they will be effective.
What I like best about this book is that it is packed with exercises Dr. Hawkes calls "Bridge to Healing." Many focus on visualizations; all require a meditative state. Meditation has been proven in a number of scientific laboratories to promote healing and well-being. And, although, you may never reach Dr. Hawkes' abilities as healer, you will certainly promote your own well-being by practicing her exercises. Cell-Level Healing is more workbook than text book. The "how does it work" question is not answered for you. You'll have to try it and see for yourself.

Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell
I found this book to be extremely interesting and helpful. Written in an easy to read and understand manner it covers some very complex elements making the connection between the physical and the spiritual aspects of ourselves and our cellular makeup. Easy to follow instructions for self-help and for helping others. Highly recommended to all those who are seeking and wish to take their journey further.

Interesting story of how the author went from practical, linear, western medical thinking to being a healer. She offers lots of practical advice that you can use right now. This is the new medicine.
