5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Michelle, you're book is incredible!, June 14, 2010
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
It's SOOO funny, and SOOO true! Thank-you from the
bottom of my heart for allowing us to see inside
your mind and read and feel your humourous and
sensible thoughts on cellphone etiquette.

My own kids are just little and I will be making
sure I role model to them how I hope they will
respect and regard their future cellphones.

Your book is not only incredibly fun to read but
also gives some straight forward, common courtesy,
as well as sensible safety lessons on how we should
be treating our cell phones and more importantly
those nearby us while we are on our phones! ;o)

Thanks Michelle, great job! I think ALL cellphone
owners should grab a copy of your book!

They'll LOVE it!

Cheers...Amanda van der Gulik...Excited Life Enthusiast! ;o)

5.0 out of 5 stars TFLMS, TISC, WFM, NISM?, June 2, 2010
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
You'll want to read this (quick, easy, informative) book to get the "secret decoder ring" so you can understand your kids' text messages! The title of this review in translated to be: "Thanks for letting me share, This is so cool, Works for me, Need I say more?" Some good advice for cell phone manners, plus this great list of text-message shorthand. Which I am now memorizing so I can communicate with my kids... and decipher their messages to each other. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Parents should make their children read this to "qualify" for cellphones., May 17, 2010
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
Do cellphones reveal an inherent rudeness in some people, or do cellphones cause some people to become rude? No matter what the answer is, Michelle Cimino is on a mission. As the mother of two teenagers, Cimino is on a mission to tell engaging stories about what works and does not work with cellphones. Courtesy seems to be the biggest victim of cellphone use, and Cimino gives lots of motherly advice about being more courteous with one's cellphone. I would recommend Cell Phone Etiquette by Michelle Cimino to all parents who are about to give their children cellphones. Every parent facing this situation should read this humorous and educational book first. And then he or she should make each child who is about to get a cellphone read the book, too. Perhaps the parent should even test the child for comprehension of the subject matter before "qualifying" the child to get a cellphone. Talk about using cellphones to improve communication! -- Kirk Mahoney, Ph.D., [...]

Short, sweet, and very funny. Every cell phone user needs to read this book. I guess that means everyone because we all use cell phones. If your child won't read it, you need to; so that you can educate him/her how to be a good cell phone user while still being considerate of people near by. RUDE is not COOL! Thank you, Michelle, for a very funny and educational book that is much needed in our society. Ken Shannon

5.0 out of 5 stars You're not the only one on the planet!, April 22, 2010
By
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
A poignant and humorous book that hits the problem of anti-social behavior caused by cell phones, right on the head (with a cream-colored brick: you have to read the book to find out more). How many times have we encountered people who talk loudly on their cell phones, in the office, at the airport and occasionally when serving you over the counter? 24/7 availability do we need it? Michelle says: Emergency calls yes. Social not necessarily. The rules: Be considerate of others when shopping or in a restaurant. No talking at the family table. Call back. Don't call and drive. Michelle points out that some kids are refusing to go for a day without their cell phone - is it some kind of cyberspace blanky? She tells the amusing story of two girls sitting together at back of car texting to each other.... Are cells a threat to person to person skills? Are people texting rather than speaking face to face?
But there is a positive outcome. Michelle ends with the bright side of this amazing technology.
You can use this great tool to its fullest potential in many ways but remember you're not the only person on the planet -remember to be considerate of others. Don't miss an opportunity to read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have it., April 16, 2010
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
I read Michelle's book "Cell Phone Etiquette" and I am very impressed how nicely she pictures real-life stories that we can all relate to.

Amazing how a little device can make us its slave. Now we can be found anywhere without privacy.

These days young people and I mean from teens to 30 have no clue about good manners, especially with cell phone use. Michelle's book made me realize that we (the parents) forgot to teach our kids how to act in society while using a cell phone. I recommend this book to any parent and of course to young people. It is educative, fun and really entertaining. The book is fun, easy to read, and full of good tips.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a hoot!, April 8, 2010

Michelle captures the emotions of so many disgruntled (especially) adults who remember basic etiquette. But even for adults, you have to define the parameters. There may be a few more rules out there, but "Cell Phone Etiquette" is very extensive. I thoroughly enjoyed the examples portrayed by the author, and personally encountered many of them. I highly recommend it as a handbook to be purchased for every cell phone owner.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has WIIFM!, April 7, 2010
This review is from: Cell Phone Etiquette: Observations from a Mom (Paperback)
I finally found a book that will let me decode all of the abbreviations that people use, not only in texting but in emails also. It's embarrassing to always ask people what they mean by SWDYT, etc. It is like a secret language that we of the older generation don't always know. I'm keeping this book handy - like a permanent reference source.
The entire book was a quick and fun read with many relatable stories - it keeps you laughing all the way thru. This is a great gift book for those who `just don't get it' on cell phone etiquette.
