This is the best bedding for rabbits.

Gets rid of smells- The initial smell of the bedding goes away eventually, and it also absorbs the smells of my guinea pig's excretions better than CareFresh 4.

I have made an opened 40lb bag go for a few years easy, with no sign of change from the day I opened it.

I was surprised when I got this that it was 28 Quarts, I thought, for some reason, I was ordering 10 quarts. I was kind of annoyed, because I'm a relatively new guinea pig owner and am still trying to find the best bedding for my piggy and me.

I opened the bag and it smelled AWFUL. The consistency seemed hard and looked like rocks. The previous bedding I tired was CareFresh, this seemed like pebbles compared to the cotton feel of the CareFresh bedding.

Once I got past the smell and got it into the cage, I actually liked it. My guinea pig didn't complain either. He ran around as much as he did with the CareFresh bedding.

Reasons why I would buy this brand again:

1. Lasts long- I do daily spot cleaning, but I feel like even if I didn't, this bedding would get through the week on its own.

2. Looks clean- With CareFresh, a single pee spot or poop pellet made everything look disgusting, with Cell Sorb, it seems to always look clean.

3. Gets rid of smells- The initial smell of the bedding goes away eventually, and it also absorbs the smells of my guinea pig's excretions better than CareFresh

4. Not Dusty- Other brands would make my piggy sneeze because of excess dust, I don't seem to have that problem with this brand

In a nutshell, I'm glad the bag is 28 qts and not 10 qts like I thought it was lol

I have been using Cell-Sorb for my pet's needs for 4-5 years now. I use this with a 50/50 blend of pine shavings for my pet snake. The real hero is the Cell-Sorb.

The pine shavings are for two reasons:
(1) When used without other substrate, the Cell-Sorb tends to compact over time (once it has been exposed to moisture, or after it breaks down from use) and requires a good stirring to break it up again. Pine shavings help it stay fluffier. This might not be necessary depending on your pet's desire to burrow. I should note that the Cell-Sorb deteriorates much more slowly when left dry.
(2) Pine shavings are a really cost-effective way to stretch out the life of your Cell-Sorb supply. Depending on your pets, you could make this bedding last anywhere from a month to six+ months. For my snake, I can easily make it six months, providing I don't let droppings accumulate and he doesn't tip over his water dish.

Like I said, the Cell-Sorb is the true hero here.

Pros:
- It really absorbs odors and moisture very well. Embarrassingly, it allows me to get a bit lazy between cage-cleanings, but I should really clean out the droppings more often. :)
- Safe for pets. I don't have to worry if my snake accidentally injests a little with his meal (same goes for the pine)
- Not dusty (I would still suggest a scoop/dustpan method of transfer, vs dumping the bag out)
- Neutral smell out of the box
- Stores *VERY* well. I have made an opened 40lb bag go for a few years easy, with no sign of change from the day I opened it.

I have tried a several different beddings for our two guinea pigs: wood shavings (cheap, but not very absorbent, and seemed to give one of the piggies respiratory problems), Care Fresh (good, nice and soft, but expensive), paper shreds (not very absorbent). Cell-Sorb is really absorbent, keeps odors at bay for quite some time, and doesn't clump, so you can easily scoop it out of the cage when it is cleaning time. The only downside is that it is not very soft. So we now have settled on the following routine: first a layer of Cell-Sorb, then a thin layer of Care Fresh on top. The Cell-Sorb is not too expensive, has the desired good absorbency, while the Care Fresh is soft and keeps the pigs comfortable. Of course two piggies make more messes that one, but now we only have to change the bedding every five to six days or so. I am very happy with the Cell-Sorb, and can higly recommend it!

This is the best bedding for rabbits. We have been using it for almost 4 years and have tried others and keep coming back. It is not dusty, it is comfy for the rabbits, and does not leave an oder, even if left for an extended time. It is also safe for animals because it is made from recycled paper and not wood chips or other toxic materials. We use it as bedding and as litter in their boxes and LOVE IT. The only con is that it is heavy compared to similar products but that isn't a big deal at all - in fact that may even be a pro the way you look at it.

I've been using this product for several years. It works great as a base litter for my pet guinea pig. (I use care fresh on top.) Smell is nearly non-existent, even after a week (sometimes more) without a change. Recycles well as compost or mulch. Not sure why someone would use it as cat litter as in the other review - I don't see any indication on the packaging that this is even mentioned as a use for the product.

Order online and you'll never buy another brand of bedding again! I have been raising chinchillas for years and this is the only bedding I use hands down the BEST! if you miss a day or two between changes your pets are not festering in ammonia like pine, cedar or fluffed paper. You can also scoop potty area without the entire litter change as rest of box stays dry.
