I purchased this for my son for practicing his cello over the summer. Cello Online is a great resource for the teens who prefers to use electric method of learning. The site has string classes available for teaching the music history and type of music development, and each section has music piece presented with the recording (simple recording, not orchestra), and this book is the accompaniment music sheet to go along with the lessons. I think it's a great deal as you can learn the history and type of music online for free, all you need is the cello and this sheet music book. This book is probably not for the complete beginner - you should know at least to the point where you are comfortable with the half position.
