5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Melodic and Soulful January 20, 2010
By B.J.S.
Format:Audio CD
These unknown (to me, at least) cello sonatas are of the highest caliber. I would even put them up there with Brahms'. I am familiar with some of Anton Rubinstein's work, which is often viewed as uneven---but he must have been in a particularly inspired frame of mind when he wrote these.

The musicianship is perfect.

Another Hyperion triumph.
