I'm writing this review primarily as a repsonse to the last review (and for my opinion that this CD deserves a better review). Although I agree the original LP wasn't essentially a rocker (though Little Red Donkey, Too Much of a Good Thing, Seventeen, Her Emotion go in that direction), and is rather orchestrated (in the manner of "Love Is All Around," that is), it's still classic 60's pop. Then again, though, I have to admit, too, that I can't stand "Butterflies and Bees" ... That's what the "skip" button is for, I guess. At any rate, this IS the CD in the current series that contains the best of the bonus tracks: Easy Loving, Come Now, and Lover. WOW! "Come Now" is my favorite Trogg song of all time. It's like "Wild Thing" but instead of having a flute during the refrain, it has some french woman saying something or other in her native tongue. Maybe I'll learn the language just to find out what it is ...

the bonus tracks make it a fourstar.,

On it's own this was one of the troggs most poppy efforts ,even with the monster classic hit 'love is all around' it still was far less rockin than the protopunk rockin' 'from nowhere' was by far. I like the songs here but it's just not as powerful. The bonus tracks have some great songs on here though and that brings this one up from a 3 star all the way.

"Troggs Roar Through a Dozen Rocking Numbers" says the review...uh, where exactly is the `roaring'...?
Don't get me wrong-I love the Troggs. Wild Thing is a classic moment in pop history. Their garage R-n-R still holds up to this day, even with the limitations of their top 40 pop image. But there's a good reason this album was never released in the US - and that's because it's full of limp, orchestrated pop songs sung in a wimpy Prozac style. Come on guys, you don't even mean it. And it shows. `Love is All Around' is the exception but that's available on many re-releases. The only thing that saves this sad effort is the many bonus tracks. For fans and completists only.
