This publication reviews state-of-the-art therapies for augmenting the cellular and humoral immune system in a variety of conditions; the role of apheresis techniques in procurement of effector cells and as an alternative to high dose humoral immunotherapy; and specific cellular and antibody directed therapies. Contemporary therapies in the forefront of medicine are contrasted to standard apheresis methods. The reader will be introduced to these new treatments and their applications in immunopathology and cancer.
