I was not impressed by this replacement product for my toshiba laptop. Ive only had it for about 5-6 months and its already ready to be thrown out. The outside plastic protective sleeve seperated from the plug on both ends exposing the seperate coverd wires. I plugged it in this afternoon to use my computer and not but 5 seconds after it was plugged in it caught fire and split the wire up in multiple places and filled my home with smoke. WHAT A FIRE HAZARD!! Same thing happened to the manufactures cord. So now I have to shovel out more money to replace the cord again. NOT very impressed.

Thank god I was sitting in front of my laptop when I saw this thick stream of smoke coming from the back of the computer. I looked over the screen only to find FIRE!!! The cord that directly plugs into the back of the laptop was burning. It happened so fast. I immediately blew out the fire but can only imagine if I had walked away for a few minutes, or god forbid took a shower or something!
Buyer beware... this little device can burn down your house!

This replacement lasted less than 6 months. Putting any torque on the wire connectors causes damage. The wire from the power supply to the laptop can loose from its plastic cover on both ends within an few weeks. I've been living dangerously within since then thinking that if I kept the cable perfectly straight, things wouldn't get worse. I have to jiggle the connector every few minutes as it tends to short out. This unit has been making a "fun" electrical crackling sound for a while now. I can't believe how dangerous this item is and how stupid I've been for continuing to use it. Do not buy this unless you're interested in burning your house down.

I bought this a little less than a year ago and within a couple months of use it began making very loud noises while in use. It just recently started smoking while I was using it. Needless to say it is no longer working. While it is a cheap price - it is not going to last very long. There are better options out there.

It worked for about a year. The cord got pinched and then one day the dang thing caught on fire. My fault for letting it get pinched up. I dont think it was poorly made, however the cord is a bit thin. The new one I got isnt from Toshiba and it rocks. I would suggest this if you cant find anything else.
