Maranatha Music has been putting out edifying music for decades. Like every group and every company, not each title turns out as hoped. This is a CD that exceeds expectations. Very tasteful arrangements of traditional hymns which have celtic origins and done in a celtic style.
If you don't know the hymns and their lyrics you will still enjoy the music. If you do know them, you may find yourself worshipping... and that's not a bad thing to do. He is worthy.
I am touched by each and every song but was most moved by MY SAVIOR'S LOVE. (no pun intended) There is something about the words which brings hope and joy to my soul and the musical arrangement matches it perfectly. May you be moved as deeply.

Listening to WCIF radio in Melbourne, Florida one morning, DJ Scott Terry put on My Saviors Love , and I called in to find out more about it. When I got the chance to pick up my copy at a bookstore, I found it to be QUITE a production. The violins, flutes, deep drums and percussion, synthesizers, guitars, Boudrhan, snare drums and guitars were meticulously arranged - and the result will bring joy to your personal worship, and may even set your feet to dancing ( that's 'foot fellowship' to my fellow Baptists). But the Vocals - well, John Andrew Schreiner and Stan Endicott couldn't have gotten any more out of their singers than they did ! A Celtic Masterpiece. The final cut -Amazing Grace - would knock them gracefully dead at 1st Baptist of Atlanta or at Coral Ridge in Fort Lauderdale - places that up till now probably think they have already heard the best of everything.
The only thing that is hard to understand is why the Maranatha Music hasn't offered any music arrangements for Celtic hymns. Unless they are planning to take the music with them on the road, they would probably reap quite a lot of benefits (financial and otherwise) in making them available to Churches everywhere. Attempting to contact John Andrew Schreiner and Stan Endicott at Maranatha Music is a real exercise in patience building........

I love this album, It takes some wonderful music-- traditional hymns-- and gives them a depth and power not often seen.
You can imagine yourself in a cathedral. Despite the bells, drums, strings-- or maybe because of them-- the end product
has a clear, simple feel that is both relaxing and sacred. I gave a copy to my pastor.

There are two featured singers on this album and they are Ann and John Barbour. Never have I heard such loving and yet Loudly proclaimed Worship from the depths of their souls. It's as if a voice from deep within just emanated from their very heart and echoed out through their mouths, and this kind of praise went straight up to the Throne of Grace. I believe this on all 5 of their selected songs on the CD, especially, "Amazing Grace." Never have I before, and never again will I hear a better rendition - peiod - in my opinion it simply cannot happen - for that one was a mirccle in itself.

"Jesus, Lover Of My Soul", as performed by these artists on this present CD, might be the most artistically and aesthetically interesting and satisfying Christian recording I've yet heard of any individual song. "Doxology" comes very close, also, and is (like the previous song mentioned) such a beautiful, emotionally moving performance of an ancient Christian hymn. They are great to sing with! And, while these two are still stand-outs to me (for I first heard them on the eclectic, various artists' collection TOP 50 HYMNS brought out by Maranatha! Music a few years ago), the other songs are also beautiful and worthy renditions of Christian songs -- not your standard kind of performances of these classic hymns! And you can tell they mean what they sing, and love the Savior. "Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus" (with beautiful, perfect female singing), "All Creatures of Our God And King" (with a lead singer whose voice reminds me of a converted Michael Stipe of R.E.M.!), and "Amazing Grace" (with awesome, great vocal harmonies) are memorable performances; but again, there are no bad tracks here. Another special album (however brief, at 35 minutes!) from Maranatha! Music.
