This review is from: Celtic Instrumentals for Fingerstyle Guitar, Video Two [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Al Petteway hosts this video. He is a wonderful Celtic guitarist, and a knowledgeable, friendly and personable instructor. The video is well produced, and the split screen technique lets the student see both right and left hand technique. Al plays each song in concert tempo so you get the full impact of the song, then breaks it up into easily learned segments and shows you step by step how to play the piece. Petteway is a good instructor, and is generous with his advice on becoming a better fingerstyle guitarist. The songs are wonderful. Styles range from the quiet and harp like Red Haired Boy to the complex and challenging Caledon Wood. When you learn how to play Caledon Wood, your guitar playing friends will consider you a God! If you really want to learn Celtic and Open tuning guitar, buy this video. |
