This review is from: Celtic Keyboards (Audio CD)
This CD is a smart purchase for anyone who likes classical music or who likes Celtic music. Many of the pieces are not available elsewhere and the performances are very well done. Highly recommended.

Joan Trimble? John Field? Bravo!!,
By a reader (texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Celtic Keyboards (Audio CD)
Am very happy hear good performances of Joan Trimble and John Field, two under-rated and hugely under-performed composers. In an odd way, it makes sense for the two to co-habit on this CD - both composed music that was a synthesis of other traditions, resulting in something brand new and refreshing.Field's music is a hybrid of Chopin and Mozart. In Trimble's, a broad tinge of French neo-romanticism merges with traditional Irish music. Trimble, in particular, needs more exposure. She died in 2000, but her music deserves to live forever. Be aware that tracks 8-12 on this CD, while attributed to Anonymous, were composed by Joan Trimble who composed arresting arrangements of traditional Irish tunes.
