A good introduction to the Celtic Saints,

This is a good introduction to the Celtic saints, and Celtic Christianity in general. It explains how the Celtic saints fit into Celtic Christianity, the rise and fall of the Celtic Church in the wider Catholic church, Celtic holy sites and artifacts, and the survival of the Celtic saints despite the fact that most of them were not recognized as saints by the official church. The book is well made, and very attractive, lavishly illustrated with color plates, photographs of particular sites, and black and white illustrations both ancient and modern. This would make a great gift.
