4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good.
The sword came rather quickly, and it does look great. It was a little dusty, but it cleaned pretty well. It's a very sturdy sword, nothing rattles or shakes, and the handle is indeed hardwood. If you are handling it alot, the wood may rub against your hands for some friction and a very small amount of pain. But overall, it's a great sword.

Though this sword seems to be a little cheaply made (some of the drill holes are off center) it still looks great and is just a lot of fun swinging around though I wouldnt hit anything with it.

This was purchased for my pirate costume. It was great, I looked like a real pirate at a Halloween party. I now use it in props and I have taken up a sword fighting class. It is heavy, durable, reliant, attractive looking, and most of all rather life changing. I always liked movies with sword fights in them and since I purchased this sword which was only going to be used for a one time deal Halloween bash now find myself taking up classes to use it purposefully.

4.0 out of 5 stars suprisingly neat, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Celtic Sword with Hardwood Handle (Misc.)
I picked this sword up on a whim at the local Ren Farie and was surprised at how nice this felt in my grip. Balance is pretty good for a Pakistani made sword (they are usually cheaply made and off center), and the overall design was interesting. As others have noted, it is the only two handed short sword I've ever seen, but I think it's unusualness make up for it's flaws. (spell check is telling me that unusualness is not a word. Well neither is misunderestimated and people use that in speeches about the CIA.) Any way, I picked this up for about $42, so if you need a short sword that looks a little exotic, by all means grab it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a $30 sword..., October 28, 2010
This review is from: Celtic Sword with Hardwood Handle (Misc.)
This sword is cheap. the steel is flimsy, the edges are marred, the handle twists slightly and makes an occasional rattle. Many elements are bent, the sheath is no good and it looks kinda funny. Never before have I wielded a two-handed short blade. The handle is much too long for this sword. I would recommend the traditional one with the anthropomorphic symbol of the goddess on the hilt and pommel. That is a battle tested, perfected design, though I can say nothing of quality. Overall, if you don't care for historical accuracy or quality, and you are using it as a prop for a play, religious rituals, ceremonial purposes or a halloween costume, as I am, it is decent. Just keep in mind that it is a $30 toy sword for big boys-- Not a celtic war blade in appearance, nor in functionality.

Pros:
only $30
Unique looks
It's a sword
Good prop or ceremonial blade
Fun 'toy' to have around

Cons:
VERY dirty upon arrival-- poor finish and a spot of rust on the blade (cleans up nicely with a bit of fine emery cloth)
Flimsy, low-quality steel
Too long of a handle
Not overly sturdy
Awkwardly shaped
Poorly balanced
Marred edges

Overall, I can't tell you whether or not to buy this blade because it truly depends on what you are looking for. History buffs- no. Weapon fanatics- no. other than that it is a fairly decent (but not wonderful) buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Unique, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Celtic Sword with Hardwood Handle (Misc.)
The shape and energy of this sword are truly unique. Like the previous two reviewers, I am also a high priest. Swords like this one do come in handy, more than one might think. If for no other reason than this: no one messes with you when you have a fancy pants sword like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really love this sword!, January 5, 2007

I really like this piece. I'm a Wiccan High Priest, and I use this sword in all of my rituals to cast the magick circle. It has a good look and feel and is made out of decent materials. It makes a great display piece.

5.0 out of 5 stars great sword, March 26, 2010

I am a high priest as well but i am better than he is. I used this sword before anyone else and I liked it a lot. I usually bring it to church especially on Easters. May god be with whatever i slayed. I once slayed a wooly mammoth and I drank its blood and used its body for warmth... still with all the organs in it.
