Celtic Trance delivers...,

This review is from: Celtic Trance (Audio CD)
If you're not looking for "Traditional" Irish jigs, reels, lyrics, ballads or tunes, but rather a tightly put together selection of songs with a modern, mystic, Celtic "flavor" and a dream-like quality, with a nice heavy bass beat...then this is a CD for you! Some reviewers here have mentioned the similar sound of each song and have seen that as a 'negative'. Frankly, with the word "trance" in the title, that's a tip off (to me at least) that the whole CD is *meant* to flow seamlessly from one song into the next, with no jarring stops and starts, or drastic mood changes. Nowhere on this CD, or in its blurbs, do they claim to be selling us "traditional" Irish tunes or folksongs. I don't think it's fair to pan the CD, just because it's not traditional.

The "creme de la creme" of Celtic music,
By A Customer
This review is from: Celtic Trance (Audio CD)
I recently purchased a copy of Celtic Trance in Ireland. The album is absolutely "stunning" in musical imagery and magical sounds. Its title "Celtic Trance" is a very accurate description. It is like a blend of Clannad and Enigma. Here in Ireland, Celtic music abounds but this album is the "Creme de la creme" PS I found this site while searching for more products by Dagda.

Good, though it's all been done before,
By A Customer
This review is from: Celtic Trance (Audio CD)
I'll give it 3 stars for "good", not average or poor, but not great or increadible either. I noticed the sticker on this cd that compared it to Enigma and Deep Forest. Granted, it seems everyone is comparing themselves to Enigma these days in hopes of selling their cd but this album should appeal to many of their fans anyway whom also happen to like Celtic music, simply because of it's style. Overall, "Celtic Trance" has a dreamy and mystical sound *but* every song sounds almost the same on this album and and I have trouble distinguishing one track from the next. Neverless, give this cd a listen, buy it if you like Celtic music, and if you do, also check out albums by Stone Edge and Emer Kenny which in my opinion are both a little better than this.
