4.0 out of 5 stars Fans of the Allmans and other true music, take heed!, November 5, 1998
By A Customer
What happened to lyrics that don't hate the world and guitar riffs that are really soulful and ear-catching? They are alive and well, thanks in part to JC. This album is a smooth and inviting listen from beginning to end. I have no idea why this band has not attained the popularity of contemporary groups like Blues Traveler, but hopefully that injustice will be rectified.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT FIND, December 5, 2010

This review is from: Cemeteries & Junkyards (Audio CD)
It don't get any better than this, what an excellent band. They even write their own music, the enter play between the two guitarist is amazing. The change ups are as good as it gets, this is the type of music that is very hard to find in this quality. There is Jazz, Rock & Bluegrass fused together like I have never heard it before, their second album Wade is just as good. I also like the vocals very much, the bass player & drummer are also a huge part of their sound. The lyrics are very clever and well done, these guys are all about quality. There is not a weak track on either of the first two CD'S, I was so impressed with them that I bought all eight of their CD'S without even hearing the last six, and they are also great. Do yourself a favor and try these guys out, you wont be sorry. The sound mix is very well done, the separation is amazing it sounds like they are right in front of you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic debut release by an amazing band, September 11, 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Cemeteries & Junkyards (Audio CD)
This cd is overflowing with the mischievous charm of 5 young roustabouts from the Carolinas whose voices had practically not even finished changing at the time this was recorded. Yet, to foretell the serious evolution of their writing and performing skills, several of the songs belie the sober contemplation of the poet, Matthew B. Mayes, to whom I ascribe the nickname, "le Bard de Brevard." Matthew's keen insights are filtered through a different prism than most of us will ever view unless we are fortunate to be active listeners of the interplanetary yard dog, Jupiter Coyote. Buy this cd, if only for the song, "Willow," which is one of the greatest jammin' southern rock tunes that meanders seamlessly through teasers of the Doobies, Allmans, Skynyrd, Santana, and the Doors all in one jammin 14 minute tune that starts out melancholy but builds and finishes in a breakneck pace that will leave you breathless.
