Editorial Reviews

" …[T]he manuscript is excellent, excellent, excellent. I enjoyed reading it from front to back and found it a good opportunity to reinforce some knowledge and to learn a few new things…. Our current text doesn't come close to this one…. This extraordinarily well-designed, up-to-the-minute text will be immensely valuable as an introduction to the applied processes of remote production and post for our students in documentary filmmaking and will serve as a perpetual resource for them after the course ends.... The text is remarkably accomplished and contemporary."

"It is refreshing to find a production textbook that positions story as the central focus of all aspects of the production process."

"[VISUAL STORYTELLING: VIDEOGRAPHY AND POST PRODUCTION IN THE DIGITAL AGE] contains the information I need with support material to back the information discussed in the book... I was impressed with the [DVD]. The contents covered the basic elements very straightforward. I appreciated the comparison of the different microphones, lenses and depth of field. The examples complement the book tremendously."

"[T]he book does not overwhelm with technobabble. I also appreciate the tying of technology to the importance of story-telling. This book seems to get the importance of explaining why you "push the button" not just telling you how to push the button."
