5.0 out of 5 stars This is an amazing book!!!
You ride the cenotaph road! There are portals to worlds - adventures lie within... Awesome book! I read it when I was in 5th grade but I still remember it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but nothing exceptional
Cenotaph Road is the first in a series of adventure novels featuring Lan, his giant spider companion Krek, and Inyx the Swordswoman. It is a enjoyable, but not overly exciting, romp over a couple of worlds. The idea of the Cenotaph Road itself, that the empty graves of great heroes create graves between worlds, is exceptional, although by the end of the book it is...

Cenotaph Road is the first in a series of adventure novels featuring Lan, his giant spider companion Krek, and Inyx the Swordswoman. It is a enjoyable, but not overly exciting, romp over a couple of worlds. The idea of the Cenotaph Road itself, that the empty graves of great heroes create graves between worlds, is exceptional, although by the end of the book it is irelevant to the rest of the series. This is the big problems with this book: good ideas that are not used, such as the power of Vilek's tears. On the plus side some of those ideas (steam cars powered by demon's separating hot and cold air to boil water for example) lend excellent flavor to the book.

All in all an average swords and (a little) sorcery adventure tale.

This review is from: Cenotaph Road (Paperback)
I read the Cenotaph Road series (this book being the first in the series) many years ago when it first came out and I really enjoyed it. I have been wanting to buy the series (as a keeper) and reread it. I am very happy I did!
