5*****Stars

I highly recommend this book to any sci-fi romance lover and to others like myself who didn't think books like this could be interesting.
"Beam Me Up Scotty" I am ready for more.

About the Author

CA Woolf is the author of six scifi romances. She was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.

Their closest neighbor was one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.

CA was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young CA first got the storytelling bug. She wrote her first story at the age of ten. A romance about a little boy she liked at the time.

Her first book, Centauri Dawn is based on a dream she had one night when she was about fifteen. She was a princess from Alpha Centauri and her family was coming for her to take her back home. Of course, now she knows all teenagers think this as some time or another. None of them want to think they belong to the crazy family they have. But the dream stuck with her and she decided it would make a great story.

CA credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

BRIEF SUMMARY
Audra has an ordinary life, until she is awoken by a strange man claiming to be her escort to another planet, which apparently seems she is the princess of / soon to be queen of. Having no choice, Audra, has to do what she needs in order to save those she cares about.

THOUGHTS
I wasn't sure what to expect from this story, as my first book by the author was a historical western. But in terms of a Sci-Fi romance, I think the author did the story justice. It felt like the Princess Diaries gone rogue meshed with sci-fi, and a bit of spice.

The moment Audra is awoken by a stranger and discovers that she is a princess and she is to be escorted to the planet Centauri, to her betrothal, Anton, by his bother Darius, it turns her world upside down. Not only did Audra had to find out about her future and what took place in the past, but she has to worry about an old family nemesis, becoming queen, and her growing feelings for Darius throughout their journey. All the characters on earth and on the planet were definitely appealing with a bit of outer space action. Darius, I love his character.

If you are a fan of Sci-Fi, futuristic romance, then you might find this book appealing.

Storyline: FAIR
Intimacy: GOOD

I was astonished at the over-whelming positive reviews and thought that I really, really, REALLY must have had the wrong book...so, I flipped through my Kindle (I know...mixing metaphors; electronic book / flipping pages) and saw that yes, the reviews were definitely all about this book...the one with the cover-art hinting that this is a centaur book (Spoiler Alert! It's not). At first glance it genuinely had a great premise; young girl finds out she's princess to an alien planet (who hasn't wanted to be a Princess Leia in their lives), being brought home to marry, unite the world, and take her rightful place as ruler. But there were so many clichés (an evil villain named Slavarien? Does he have an evil sister named Evilalene by chance?), reproduced romantic drivel (warm silkiness? Really?), and predictable plot with massive Star Trek influence - was I the only one who didn't notice the loads of Star Trek-influenced gizmos on the ship; warp drive, "Computer, take me to Deck 12", medic units? The plot was thin...I seriously skipped several pages and found that I was easily able to pick up the story without missing a step, and the characters were wooden romance-novel stereotypes and yes, I'm sure I'll get 8,000 negative hits for not drooling over this book. But look at it this way, I won't be waiting in line at midnight, trying to elbow you out of the way when the next books are released.

Format: Paperback
Audra is awakened by a man claiming she is the Princess of Centauri. After the ensuing struggle, she does what any sensible girl would do--she calls her mother. Instead of laughing it off, her mother confirms the man's assertion. Captain Darius has come to Earth to reclaim the princess. He must present her before the senate and save his people from a horrible fate--the rule and tyranny of her Uncle Slaverian.

Complications arise from the start the biggest being how can Darius allow his life mate to marry his brother as prophesied? He knows his duty and is willing to do it, but that's not the biggest obstacle. Slaverian isn't about to give up his claim to the Centauri throne, and he's willing to kill both Audra and Darius to get it.

Centauri Dawn is a great addition to the scifi romance genre. There are battles, intrigue and adventure set against the backdrop of human desires and ambitions. Audra is compelling as a woman forced to straddle two worlds while Darius struggles between his desire for a life mate and his loyalty to his brother. Will they choose to be together or will they have to pay too high a price for love?

Audra Cantwell's world is turned upside down when she wakes one morning to discover that everything that she thought about herself is a lie. Her mother is her aunt, her father is her uncle and her brothers are her cousins. She isn't even human, but a princess from another planet! And the brother of her betrothed, Darius Coridian, has come to take her there, to the planet Centauri from the system Proximus. Her parents are killed moments after confirming the truth of her heritage: she is the heir to the throne. Darius whisks her away and transports her to his starship high in orbit above the planet, duty bound to bring her safely home.

Darius has found his lifemate in the Princess Dayanara.

The one person he could not deny, who made his blood boil and who only had to touch him to scald his soul.

Still, to save their planet from war, she has to marry to his brother.

However, the one who killed her parents wants Audra dead too. Despite their escape from Earth, he attacks them on the way to the planet Centauri. She soon discovers that he is her uncle and he wants her dead so he can take the throne.

We still have plenty of twists; Audra discovers that her betrothed is ambushed and presumed dead, she is kidnapped, rescued, and she and Darius find his brother ... and more.

The storyline was interesting, the book was good, but Ms Cynthia Woolf has to add more feeling to the book. I read the story as a spectator, without feeling any connection with the characters of the story.
