5.0 out of 5 stars Great Version For Game Boy, November 13, 1999
By A Customer

A classic shoot em up which translates well to the Game Boy platform. Very playable and almost as exciting as the arcade version, which says a lot considering the limitations of Game Boy.

I never thought I'd find an "action" game on Gameboy that I enjoyed so much! I had only played Centipede with a "ball"-type mouse, so I was really surprised at how much fun this edition was! BUY IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not happy on the price, February 22, 2000

I'm happy to see the old retro games come back and be made for the gameboy but they are basic games and therefore should be given a budget price. Games like centipede, astroids, space invaders have very simple design and I don't think they should be the same price as modern games like Zelda, Pokemon, etc. That is alot of money to spend on a game that was originally made 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love the games.

I am a fan of Retro everything. This was my favorite video game in the arcades. Now it's my favorite Gameboy game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addicting!!!!, June 28, 2001

Mostly faithful replica of the arcade game with three levels of difficulty...I take this on trips with other games, but I always end up only playing this one. You will be hooked!

Play in a well lit area, since there's not much color. Bottom line if you like playing the old version then you'll have playing this

5.0 out of 5 stars A great standalone version of the arcade classic, May 12, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Centipede (Game Cartridge)
Centipede was one of those arcade shooting games in which you just have you think to yourself, "Oh, man! I gotta play this game!" And then as you play it, you wouldn't stop. You just want to keep shooting at the strolling centipedes and spiders. Then, once you get a Game Over, you'd pop in some more quarters, wanting to keep playing.

This Game Boy version is just as great as the arcade game. And of course: You don't have to spend truckloads of quarters.

What's even better about this version is the multiple multiplayer modes. There's Alternative, Competitive, and even Co-op! The only drawback, though: Name one person who has a Game Boy/Color and a Link Cable to go with it. If you do manage to find such a person, however, you'll have a blast with him/her in this game.

I thoroughly recommend you buy this, especially if you're a die-hard arcade fan.
