5.0 out of 5 stars Very Addictive and fun
This is fine example of how to move a console/arcade game to the PC. This version adds some more depth to the original game while retaining its fast pace. It also gives the user the option to play the original game as well which was a great idea.

I give it 5 stars because it delivers what the box cover promises, which is exceptional for a game nowadays.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing if you're looking for arcade version
If you are looking for the classic arcade game, and just want to play using a mouse, this is not for you. Doesn't work well with mouse. There is an arcade game, along with the 3D version, but the arcade version has a "slanted screen" look I disliked. Also, game goes through a long boring intro without the slightest clue on-screen or in the booklet how to skip...

If you are looking for the classic arcade game, and just want to play using a mouse, this is not for you. Doesn't work well with mouse. There is an arcade game, along with the 3D version, but the arcade version has a "slanted screen" look I disliked. Also, game goes through a long boring intro without the slightest clue on-screen or in the booklet how to skip past it. This might be great for someone really into video games, who has a controller/joystick set up, etc. But I was just looking for a simple arcade version to use my mouse with, and this was a big disappointment.

My wife LOVES Centipede, but it didn't work very well on her laptop because the system is too advanced for it (you need Win 95, 98, ME, up to XP). I loaded it on my desktop (XP Pro) and it played all right in compatibility mode. In the end, if you have an old computer gathering dust in your basement, this is a great game to play. If you have a fairly new computer, I would pass on it.

As for the seller, the price was very inexpensive, the game arrived in new condition and in less than a week. You certainly couldn't complain about excellent service and price like this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Centipede game, February 15, 2011

Really liked this game when I found it 10 years ago. Now its one of the only games I play. So happy to find it again that I bought two of them. Only problem is that you need to use the game's lowest resolution setting for maximum trackball movement in the arcade mode which, since I haven't been able to enable in Vista, means playing it with XP. Faster is better, of course. I don't play the adventure mode very much but it is also fun, regardless of resolution or OS. This is the original fun game for a trackball. Good graphics and 3D for old school video. It's also more fun than the official arcade version that I bought and cooler looking. Thx...

All the fun of the old classic arcade game and more. Very adicting. The improved 3D graphics are really good esp with the added adventure game. This is my all time favorite video game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astounding, August 3, 2000

I received this for Christmas 1998 and have been playing it ever since. I originally was hooked on the arcade game, but this CD game has an adventure game and now I am hooked on it. It took a long time and many deaths to finally defeat the queen pede, but defeat her I did and I still love to play all the levels (some more often that others) It really is great!
