5.0 out of 5 stars Love this game! March 6, 2012
In this classic game an elf village is attacked by a centipede, hence the name of the game, and one of the elves is heroically tasked with the challenge of defeating it, by shooting up from the bottom of the screen (Space Invaders style) through or around the toadstools in order to hit it. Watch out if you do though, the centipede will break into two parts and the new part will move independently from the original one. If you hit 10,000 points you get an extra life. The levels advance by leaving everything on the screen exactly the same, changing the color, and sending in a new centipede. In this version, at least, the elf looks exactly like a cube, but hey, it's Atari so what do you expect. I love this game and have spent hours playing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good arcade port. April 27, 2014
This is another example of a great shooter on the 2600. Here are three reasons why you should buy it,

Gameplay: In this game you control a rectangle starship thing that has to shoot a centipede running through a maze while trying not to touch a spider. This game broke away from the Galaga/Space invader style where you are stuck to the bottom, in this game you can actually go up, down, left, and right to shoot that darn centipede. This game is difficult to describe because it is so strange of a game. While easy in the beginning it gets intense.

Addicting: If you buy this game on amazon and they send it in the mail, then that mail arrives in your mailbox with this game inside kiss your weekend goodbye! The first time you play this game you think I can do better than that. Than you repeat that process again and again until its 12:04 in the morning and your Atari 2600 joystick gave up the ghost. At that point you think maybe I should stop for awhile.

Controller variation: This game is fun with, a Sega genesis controller, Atari 2600 joystick, Atari Trak-Ball, and a Coleco controller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Arcade Port August 11, 2012
Verified Purchase
Atari was known for making so many successful arcade ports (with the exception of Pac-Man) and this game is one of them. This game is extremely close to the arcade version and gives us the portability to play it at home.

This always was fun and entertaining without lots of blood and violence. My grandchildren are enjoying this experience. They range in age from 6 - 17, boys and girls.
