5.0 out of 5 stars The Finest Broadway Talent Of All Times..., December 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
If you've heard of Anthony Warlow, you may know that he has never hit the Broadway Stage. He is an Australian Talent that exceeds all of this genre. Center Stage is a pleasure to listen to. I have a large collection of Broadway and Cabaret voices and in my opinion - none compare. After listening to the Double Box CD of Jekyll & Hyde, I searched frantically to find additional work by Mr. Warlow and was fortunate to locate this CD among others (i.e. On The Boards, Midnight Dreaming, The Main Event and Back In The Swing). His voice literally soars. If you've never heard Mr. Warlow, this is the first purchase I would make and follow on in the above order. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed his voice and I can't wait until he records again.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Warlow's Best, May 4, 2001
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
Anthony Warlow is Australia's most talented and powerful musical theatre/opera singer. His voice is shown off most exceptionally in this CD. The first track Music of the Night gets the CD off to a very fitting start. This track truly shows why he was Australia's Phantom in 1991. His rendition of Anthem from Chess is the best around. It is incredibly powerful and emotional. His version of Bring Him Home is amazing. In my opinion he sings it better than any of the people that have been Jean Valjean. Lastly both Soliloquy and The Impossible Dream shows off Warlow's ability to adopt a great character voice all the while maintaining an amazing quality of singing. This is one of Warlow's better CDs and is highly recommended as it has so many great songs sung by possibly one of the world's greatest male vocalists.

The true power of this CD lies not only in the individual tracks, but in the entire collection and its range of emotions, styles, and techniques. Anthony Warlow demonstrates his immense talents through a wide variety of vocal techniques that should be appreciated from start to finish, again and again. His rendition of "Anthem" from Chess is the absolute best I have ever heard. This CD has not left my CD player since I bought it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Richest Theatre Voice Around, September 24, 2000

I first heard Anthony Warlow on the concept album of Jekyll and Hyde. I was instantly taken by the clarity, consistancy, and (most of all) range of his voice. This wonderful CD only reafirms my love of this man's talent. As a musical theatre singer, I am motivated and driven to someday reach the caliber of singing that Mr. Warlow upholds. His renditions of Music of the Night, Anthem, Bring Him Home, and Soliloquy (not to mention every other song on the CD) are masterpieces that can and should be listened to repeatedly without any loss of the emotion and moving power that he so effortlessly brings to every note.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Brilliance!, July 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
Originally I was attracted to this album when a friend of mine showed me Music Of The Night, as I was a die-hard Phantom fan at the time. Now I am a die-hard Anthony fan, and have been since 1993. I too am an Aussie, and would love to see this man become more well-known throughout the world. His population of worldwide fans is steadily growing, and Centre Stage is a good example of his versatile and spectacular voice. For those of you who know nothing about him, he was the original Australian Phantom, and recieved rave reviews for his performance. He also played Enjolras in Les Miz, Archie in The Secret Garden, has toured with The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and has had an abundance of other roles. He is one truly talented man, and I've never heard anyone sing as beautifully as he does. This album was his first, and he has released several great solo albums and cast recordings since. Buyers of this album will NOT be disappointed! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Better!, February 19, 2005

There isn't a single Male Vocalist out there as AMAZING and BREATHTAKING as Mr. Anthony Warlow! This album shows the wide range of the tones, and characters his voice can stretch to. His operatic quality while singing "Music of the Night" blows all other recorded Phantoms out of the water! "Somewhere" is so beautiful, and the girl singing with him is wonderful and they compliment each other perfectly. "You're Nothing Without Me" will make you laugh, and his is just perfectly suited to sing it. All the other tracks are equally perfect and will capture your heart. I am definitely going to buy all his other albums after this one! I strongly recommend the Concept Cast album of "Jekyll and Hyde" with him on it. You haven't heard perfection till you hear Anthony Warlow sing "I Need to Know".

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing voice!, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
I first heard of Anthony from my friend's Les Miz recording and have since become a die-hard fan. Centre Stage was his first solo album, and it's amazing! His "Music of the Night" is beyond comparison and the whole album is both funny and incredibly moving. "Anthem" is my favorite in this set - it almost had me in tears the first time I heard it. This CD is a must for all Warlow fans and anyone wanting to hear some amazing singing!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best voices, July 15, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
Regardless of the arrangement or instrumentation of the songs, the interpretation of Anthony Warlow delivers. I first heard his voice in a complication CD, the best of Act I. This is my second CD of his. I like best his simple, yet elegant, interpretaton of Johanna, I Am What I Am, and the Colors of my life. His voice is very refreshing. I really do not tire of listening to this CD again and again. His background is theater but his interpretation is not over-dramatic.

This man's voice is beyond belief. He is easily the greatest vocal talent I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Too bad he never comes to America! I'd give my soul to see this guy live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Voice of an angel, July 19, 2000

When I heard Anthony Warlow in Les Miz, I fell totally inlove with his voice. I can listen to his voice for hours and never get tired of it. He's so passionate and deep. Every note he sings blows everything else away. No one elses voice can touch his. I was so impressed that I named my pet mouse after him, even though it seems wrong because mice sqeek, and Anthony Warlow certainly doen't. I'm a fan of low voices, and his takes the cake without leaving any crumbs!
