I'm biased, but it is a seriously useful book,

Ok, fair disclosure first. I used to work with the author and I also helped him translate the English version from the original German text. So obviously I'm biased. With that in mind read on.
This book is extremely comprehensive and rigorous, far more so than any other book I have encountered on centrifugal pump design. If you are looking for an easy glossy read on "general" pump concepts this isn't the book you want. It is packed to the gills with design information, methods and formulae, making it a difficult to "skim". However if you are looking for detailed insight and guidance on how to predict, design and interpret pump performance, this is the book for you. I don't agree with everything in the book, but the vast majority of the advice is accurate and functionally useful. If you want to start your own pump company, rerate other people's pumps or simply really understand what makes centrifugal pumps tick look no further... |
