Very easy to clean.

We have a small boat and because of its low height this portable toilet fits perfectly under the opening in the rear bench seat.

It now has a crack in the holding tank and is leaking.

I now own three of these. One is in the back of the van we take on road trips. (Ever been to a rest stop at the Mexican border?) One is in a spare room, just in case someone needs it -- we have a room renter who spends more time in our bathroom than the rest of us put together. The one I just ordered is going in a detached garage/office. Odd uses? Maybe. But the portable toilet is solidly built, doesn't leak, and works beautifully. The one in the van completely flipped over on one trip to San Francisco and was just fine when set upright again. A great deal!

We bought this toilet to take on vacation with us for two weeks. We were staying in an A frame cottage with one bathroom with our family of nine. My husband and I put this toilet in our bedroom that was upstairs - up a little spiral staircase. It was very nice to not have to come down the staircase at night. The toilet traps odors VERY well. It never made our room have a bad odor. We emptied it every day, and I will admit that that was not a pleasant job, but we decided it was worth it. Do buy deodorizer. That makes the emptying job less disgusting. I am 46, and a bit pudgy, and using the toilet was no problem for me. I could not have used it easily last summer, when I weighed 50 pounds more, however. It is a little low to the ground, so someone who is not spry might not be able to use it easily.

Bought this product for a family trip to be used in our minivan. The kids like the flushing aspect like a "real" toilet, one reason I picked this over more expensive ones. Read that the 5 gal. tipped over; it was TOP heavy. Well, this one is too, not to mention that the bottom is not "flat" per se, and is narrower than the top. It tipped over a couple of times (empty, except water), so I purchased a plastic 28 qt. costume box from Walmart to stabilize it, which fit the bottom perfectly, and it still tipped over. So, the moral of the story kids is ... if you buy this, you have to tie this ... down.

Most potty toilet are designed similarly where basically there is a clean water tank above a waste tank. There is a bellow pump to fill the toilet bowl with fresh water and a gate valve that you pull to drop the waste. I had a Sears potty toilet which lasted 20 years. Since Sears no longer manufacture potty toilets, I got this Century as a replacement for my cuddy boat. I like the way they designed the seals at the gate valve because any leakage or seepage past the seals of the gate valve is fully contained by a short plastic pipe that protudes up from the waste tank. You never want waste water to leak from your potty toilet so this secondary containment is a good design. There is a discharge cap to the side of the waste tank that may potentially leak but at least you can tighten the cap to tighten the seal. I will probably buy another cap with a new seal as a backup since this design does not have secondary containment. Emptying the waste tank is not as nice as my Sears because the Sears toilet had a 12 inch long discharge pipe to keep the waste away from splatting on you when you empty the tank. This unit does not have a similar discharge pipe so users have to be much more careful when they discharge the waste. So far, the seals have not leaked so I rate this toilet 4 stars. I took one star away for making it less convenient to empty than my sears toilet. Overall, for a potty toilet that is less than $70, I would recommend it.

UPDATE: I suggest getting the 5 gal version instead of the 2.6 gal because the toilet sets so low that it feels like I am in a squat position. I ended up building a platform so I can sit normally.

After reading all the great reviews i purchased this item and what a mistake..... first off customer service is a big ripoff and just about non existant. Here's how it went
THIS ITEM IS STILL NEW, NOT BEING USED AT ALL AND HAS PROBLEMS
1) item arrived in a timely fashion but the bottom half of the unit would not clip on to the top half as the plastic was distorted in the molding process..... i returned it and they sent me another
2)On the new one the freshwater cap was missing the rubber washer inside and they sent me a new one.... again no washer and it leaks out the cap.
3)Later on I noticed the black tank cap was cracked and after two full days of calling customer service i finally got thru and told them of all my problems and that i needed a new black cap... the return period was past and they said the black cap was $10 and $12 for shipping so wit tax that was $24 for a cap.... I thought that was kind of high for shipping ( it was because when it arrived shipping was $1.30)Customer service said they would send me a hold down clamp for my troubles at no charge for it or shipping.......... somehow they charged my credit card $48 and am now disputing the charges.... What a PITA I wish i purchased a name brand. i still have not used this item and if one more thing breaks it's going in the garbage........
I have never written a negative report on anything and i purchase a lot of things online.
Thank you for letting me vent here
