It has been a very good heat source for the whole house.

The hardest job in the installation was to connect the stove with the liner, which I found a bit too difficult for beginner to make it properly.

We get a lot more heat out of the wood we burn but because we use a lot of pine, It won't hold coals though to morning.

I bought this stove 4 years ago. The bottom line is that I can recommend this stove to others, assuming the spec of this stove remain unchanged since I purchased. My house is only 1500spft, so that this relatevely smaller stove does the job more than I need. I highly recommend to use it with a ceiling fan, especially if you use it in a high ceiling room. I ordered/purchased it via local Ace Hardware, which never charged me a shipping cost. YOu also need to purchase the faceplate, a flexible chimney liner(the one for wood burning stove), and the cap at the end of the liner. The total cost was about $2000 ($1500 for the above materials, and $500 for installation labor for the pro which I found locally in Seattle). He has done a fantastic job for cutting the old damper, setting up the stove, liner, and the cap to be all connected properly in a few hours. I also highly recommend to hire a pro if this is a first time installing this type of stove. The hardest job in the installation was to connect the stove with the liner, which I found a bit too difficult for beginner to make it properly. I hope this helps.

Nice stove for the price, heats my house very good about 2200 s.f.
The blower is a little bit noisy but works great. Had a little bit of trouble starting a fire since i never had to do it before, but i learned how and its very easy now. I ordered a second one for my Mother and she is very happy with hers.

I bought one of these stoves 8 years ago for around $500. It has been a very good heat source for the whole house. My only complaint is that the factory fire insulation for the door and window only lasted about 2 seasons, but for about $15 at menards you can replace it yourself. Puts out great heat, although mine didn't come with a blower. I soon found a squirrel cage blower that would fit and it dramatically increases the heat output.

After about 5 years of use, I noticed I was going through more wood than usual and the re-burn system didn't seem to be working the same. I checked the chimney and it was clean as a whistle. Haven't cleaned the chimney once since installation due to the clean burning. My brother bought the same stove, so after some investigation we came to the conclusion that the air intake for the the re-burn system was using too much air. I am not sure if this part of the stove came packed with a fire wool insulation from the factory that eventually burned out, but after trying magnets and some cheap flashing material we were able to control the air flow again and the re-burn system operated as it should. For what it's worth....

Not a bad stove for the money. Puts out great heat if you don't mind a little maintenance along the way.

I bought this insert to help lower my heating bill (baseboard electric) and it has performed very well. It was cheaper than many other models that offered similar specs.

    Pros
    -easy installation
-takes 20" logs, bigger than many more expensive models
    -nice viewing window
-blower is much quieter than I was lead to expect from other reviews
-very solid craftsmanship, it should last a very long time

    Cons
-the provided fire bricks were not as snug as I would like
-there is a ledge designed to keep the ashes from coming out the front when you open the door, and it works for the most part, but ashes often fall on top of the ledge and fall out when you open the door. With a front opening model like this, there really isn't any way to avoid this so its not much of a complaint, and more of a comment.

    Other comments
-It does not come with the adapter for your liner, you must order this separately unless it comes with a liner kit you bought.
-The outlet on the back comes out at a 45 degree angle, not directly up. This is important for installation if you are planning on doing it yourself. You could possible get the liner to attach at this angle if there is enough flexibility in the pipe, but you may have to buy a 45 degree elbow.
-The handle will at first lock in an odd position (up and to the right). This would be a long term problem as it locks by rotating in a counter clockwise rotation. If this is where it locked, there would be concern about the handle accidentally falling upon on its own. I have seen that other reviewers commented on this. However, after a day or two of use, the handle had time to get broken in and now rotates all the way to the upper left side (as seen in the picture). This is how it should lock.
-It does not come with the surround, this must be ordered separately.

I love the price and the large window in front. I did have trouble at first. Coil for handle was hard to attach. Manuel directions are incomplete- especially about how to start a fire without smoke pouring in the room. Info sticker left adhesive on the front glass.

Delivery was great. Can on a truck and the guy was very careful and even brought it inside the house. Good thing it weighted a bunch. Put out lots of heat for such a small model. Looks very elegant with the surround that we got to complete the look. The only issue we have had is that the fan has stopped working at varied speeds after the first season. It does work but only on low. I need to contact vendor to see what and how it can be replaced.
