Underated Album by Goth-style indie popsters,
By Braids (Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Century Collapsing (Audio CD)
This is an album that was released in 1998, and got some recognition on Australian 'alternative' radio station Triple J.Released on Roadrunner Records (a primarily Metal label), charting in the top 100 and getting some deserved recognition, it seems that everyone has forgotten Effigy. If I never hear about Effigy in my life again, I will be sad, but this is, with out a doubt, one of my favourite Australian albums of the 1990s. This album is just perfect, from the opening 'Heart Disease' to the closing track 'Civilised', I didn't skip a track. Highlights are 'Heart Disease', 'Caught', 'Suspicion Bells', 'Rose Thorns' and one of my favourite songs of all time, 'If something's gonna end'. I can not recomend this album enough, the beautiful, the miserable, the perfect Century Collapsing.
