This review is from: Century Makers: One Hundred Clever Things We Take for Granted Which Have Changed Our Lives over the Last One Hundred Years (Hardcover)
This beautiful little book, suitable for the desk, coffee table, or even a purse, is gorgeous from cover to cover. The bold black jacket design with the clever "100" depicted with icons of the century - bandaid, spray can, pull tab - caught my attention. The bold type and layout inside carries the impact of the cover. The selection of items depicted to represent everyday stuff that we take for granted is very insightful. Further, and most interesting, are the strange facts behind the creation, development, and mistakes that led to these incredible inventions. Educational and witty and extremely good visual design.
