Prof. Bromley Delivers Yet Again!,
By Patrick Ennis (Seattle, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Century of Physics (Hardcover)
D. Allan Bromley, one of the giants of post-War Physics, has had an amazing career spanning more than 50 years. A noted pioneer and expert in Nuclear Physics, Prof. Bromley has also found time to distinguish himself outside of academia, in leadership roles in both government and industry. As an educator and mentor to several generations of scientists and engineers, Prof. Bromley's impact is felt throughout the technical community - both in the United States and around the world.Perhaps no one alive today is better qualified to write "A Century of Physics" than D. Allan Bromley. As an accomplished author of several hundred papers and books of all levels, Prof. Bromley is an excellent writer with the rare ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. With nary an equation in the text, "A Century of Physics" communicates the broad impact that Physics has had on the entire world. Scientists, humanists and general lay audiences will all enjoy, and learn from, this important book. Richly illustrated, this book will amaze and inform the casual reader. Experts in Physics will gain an appreciation for the proper way to present and describe Physics to the population at large. This skill is more important than ever, as the Physics community continues to have problems convincing the leaders of modern society of the importance and relevance of Physics. Simply stated, Professor D. Allan Bromley's new book, A Century of Physics, belongs in Board Rooms and Living Rooms across America. |
