This review is from: Century: Level 5 Readers (Hodder Reading Project) (Paperback)
OK I read this book a few years ago so i cant remember all of the details in the plot, but i can remember the general story suprisingly well!
It's a fantasy book written from the point of view of a young girl. Every day she has lived the same life for about a hundred years, but one day she seems to wake up. She becomes intent on solving the mystery of who has cast a spell over her house, why she lives in an eternal winter. Then her mission becomes to reverse the spell, discovering her family's secrets as the story progresses.
I am the kind of person who reads about 5 books at once so i might have read 200 books since i read this and it has stood the test of time. Its a good memorable book with an engaging plot.
Frankly i think that, due to it's uniqueness of story yet the simplicity of descriptive language i would reccomend Century to all between the ages of 8-14 or more, with different age groups finding different parts more appealing. It's probably aimed at younger readers, but I strongly encourage slightly older people to read it as well.
I recommend reading this more than once to appreciate it fully. This istn a book that should stay on a bookshelf getting dusty. Enjoy :)
