This electronic book on CD-ROM provides a unique collection of documents about Wilhelm Reich, a German immigrant who described himself as the Associate Professor of Medical Psychology, Director of the Orgone Institute, President and research physician of the Wilhelm Reich Foundation, and discoverer of biological or life energy. This collection includes FBI declassified documents on Reich. A 1940 security investigation was begun to determine the extent of Reich's communist commitments. In 1947, a security investigation concluded that neither the Orgone Project nor any of its staff were engaged in subversive activities or were in violation of any statue within the jurisdiction of the FBI. In 1954 the U.S. Attorney General filed a complaint seeking permanent injunction to prevent interstate shipment of devices and literature distributed by Dr. Reich's group. That same year, Dr. Reich was arrested for Contempt of Court for violation of the Attorney General's injunction. In all, the disc has over 17,000 pages reproduced using Adobe Acrobat PDF software - allowing direct viewing on Windows and Apple Macintosh systems. Reader software is included on the CD. I am giving this two stars instead of one on the off chance I am not using it correctly. I expected a CD with files and documents on it. There aren't any, other than multiple copies of the Constitution. If I get this right, you have to be on-line in order to use it to access files from a federal database. What's the point? DON'T BUY IT.
