Morey is back with a new book, and this time it is largely new and full-sized. The images themselves are classic Morey, many focusing purely on the form of the subject, almost abstract. Others actually hint at some of the model's personality, which is rare in this kind of book. The veiled face in plate 18 is one of my favorites in this regard.

I gave an earlier Morey book poor marks for production, but this one is excellent. The paper is heavy and shows excellent contrast, and the book is what I consider full-sized, with the images taking up the bulk of each page, still leaving enough margins to let you really look at it flat-on. This is the kind of photography book I like to see.

I end up reselling almost 1/2 the photo/art books I buy because they dissapoint with either the book's production values or the photo quality.

This book I'll be keeping. A nice, full size book that contains excellent nude photography. The photos are nearly full page - 1 per page - and therefore not crowded. They are tasteful black and white images. Mostly straight-forward female nudes, many posed interestingly. There are a few male/female couples and a fewfew mild bondage shots, but not many.

Craig Morey elegantly reaffirms his standing as one of America's all-time greatest masters of the fine art studio nude. Containing 120 black & white photographs, all shot in Morey's magnificent style, it covers work done from 1989 to 2000. And though it does include some photographs that have been previously featured in Linea and Studio Nudes, the new images are worth the selling price all by themselves. In addition to the photographs there is an extensive body of text in English, French, and German covering Craig's shooting methodology as well as selected excepts from the models featured.
