I'm using this lotion with the TreeActiv Anti Acne & Rosacea Treatment Sulfur Mask Plus Rhassoul, Bentonite Clay Mask with Witch Hazel & Aloe Vera - Refreshing Lemon Scent (1 Jar), which I use 3 times a week as a really mild exfoliator. It may sound a little funny to use a facial mask as an exfoliator, but my trick is using a charcoal sponge with only a dime sized amount of the mask and I lightly scrub my face with it. I'm so happy with this mask because it makes my skin look awesome, and it is helping with my acne while moisturizing it.
I also use TreeActiv+ Tea Tree Oil Acne Solution for Advanced Acne Treatment - All Natural Acne Spot Treatment - Blemishes Gone or Your Money Back! for spot treatments and extracting, and this is good because it is also really moisturizing without being at all oil. Top it off with my CeraVe, and my skin is looking really good. I give this product five stars, and I highly recommend the other products I use, my skin hasn't looked this good since I was in diapers.
I was very skeptical after reading about this on some of the beauty forums, and even after using it for the first time. It absorbs very quickly and completely - which was very different from the heavy high end moisturizers I have used over the years. But, after consistent use, I have seen a major difference and not a single dry patch! I also have had NO problems with clogged pores or millia as I have with other heavier moisturizers. Cerave is skin-smoothing and moisturizing for me. It contains both ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
I have used Philosophy Hope in a Jar, Clinique Dramatically Different, Fresh Black Tea Cream, Aveeno moisturizers, Lancome Moisturizers, Credentials 02 Day + Night, Neutrogena Healthyskin, Ponds Dry Skin Cream, and for me, Cerave has outperformed them all and at a competitive price to boot. Win-win for me!!
*** Update 1/12/15 - still using and loving Cerave - nothing truly compares. I still prefer this version to the Cerave PM as well. Use Olay regenerist serum under and my skin has never looked better. I'm in my mid-thirties. This is great for aging skin and fine lines. :)
My brothers and sisters of Complex 15, this review is dedicated to you. I am writing this long review because I wish to offer you hope. Yes, I feel your pain, confusion, disappointment, and panic. I too, was in your very shoes. But as I will explain, Cerave is the answer to your prayers-- this is the perfect and, yes, even superior, alternative you have been looking for.
If you haven't heard already, Complex 15 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. You will notice that all the vendors from Amazon, eBay, etc. are selling their current inventory at huge price tag; I have seen some prices as much as 10 fold the prices I bought previously. I kept on searching everywhere in hopes to find a seller with reasonable price, but was unsuccessful. I eventually lost all hope and came close to paying a ridiculous price because I didn't know where else to go or what to do.
Let me explain my situation. I am a man in my 30s and have extremely sensitive skin, a mixture of dry and oily. As long as I can remember, I have always hated and avoided using lotion of any kind, as it made my face feel really oily and I hated it. But when I encountered acne during adulthood, for many long years I tried almost everything in the market in attempt to find a solution: Proactive, Murad, Neutrogena (at least 5 different kinds), Herbalife, Acne Free 24-hour Treatment System, and bunch of stuff women in my life have suggested-- list goes on and on. In short, not only did they all not work, my face started getting worse.Read more ›
Where I live, the wind chill is often below 0 and temperatures are usually in the teens during winter. I live and work in an environment with electricity-based heating, which means extremely dry air if you didn't already know. I bathe more frequently than the average person due to being an athlete (excessive bathing is also bad for the skin). And to top it off, my skin is already extremely sensitive to any kind of irritation to begin with.
My dermatologist confirmed that this product may be used on both the face and body. I have been using it this way for about 6 months now and I have seem dramatic improvements in the condition of my skin. It should also be noted that my skin is extremely prone to break out and the use of this product has resulted in startling improvements in the quality and clarity of my skin considering I am not using any other treatment. I would buy this stuff by the gallon if I could.
