Important Information

Indications
Use Nettie the Elephant Ceramic Neti Pot to effectively rinse and cleanse the sinuses.

Directions
1. Prepare the Nettie the Elephant's sinus wash solution by adding a 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. | 2. Fill with warm filtered tap water. Avoid chlorinated tap water as this irritates the sinus mucosa and lining. | 3. Stir well with a clean finger. | 4. Position yourself over a sink or large bowl or perform in the shower. While tilting your head to the side approximately 45 degrees, bend your head forward approximately 70 degrees so your forehead is slightly above the level of your chin. | 5. With your mouth open allowing relaxed breathing, insert Nettie the Elephant Ceramic Neti Pot's spout in your upper nostril. | 6. Raise Nettie the Elephant Ceramic Neti Pot gradually so the sinus wash solution passes into your nose and out through the lower nostril. | 7. Allow all the contents of Nettie the Elephant Ceramic Neti Pot to empty into your nose. | 8. Once empty, remove Nettie the Elephant's spout from your nostril and gently blow out from both nostrils. | 9. Repeat same procedure for the other sinus. | 10. Do as often as needed or as advised by your health professional.

I have used a neti pots for over twenty years now, and have tried just about every kind on the market. Of all the different types of nasal/sinus washing systems I've tried - elaborate pulsating machines, squeeze bottles, syringes, and bulbs - I always return to the pot - it's simple, it's not messy, and it works. And of all the different pots I've tried, this is definitely the best one I've ever used. The "50-percent faster flow than other neti pots" is no idle claim by the manufacturer - IT'S REALLY TRUE. Proper gravity flow is absolutely key to successful nasal irrigation, and I noticed the improvement over my old one immediately. I bought this one to replace a plastic one that takes on the aroma of a home-brewed medicinal rinse solution I use, but that won't be a problem with ceramic. I like the little "comfort spout" that fits just inside the nose, completely eliminating the drip down my chin that happens with other style spouts that fit outside the nose. Very happy - highly recommended.

I'm perplexed at the positive reviews this particular neti pot is getting. I am assuming many of the positive reviewers must be neti pot rookies? Or have only used plastic neti pots? I consider myself a neti pro and have been using one (sometimes daily) for the past five years. The process has all but eliminated my allergies and I have not had a cold last more than 2-3 days. I love neti pots. However, this one has a major design flaw. The spout is too narrow to make a good seal in the nose. I thought it may have just been me so I had my wife try it as well. Same result. In order to achieve proper irrigation the spout must seal in your nostril to flush the water through your nose and sinuses. This one does not. I was excited to try it because it boasts a 50 percent greater water flow. And while I am sure if you put this pot side by side with another brand and poured the water out of each, this one would be faster, but if it does not flow faster through your nose it is worthless. I am returning this one and cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone, unless you have very tiny tiny nostrils. And mine, nor my wife's nostrils are large at all. We are sticking with the Ancient Secrets Ceramic Nasal Cleansing Pot which we have had great success with in the past.Ancient Secrets Ceramic Nasal Cleansing Pot, 1 Neti Pot

There are several of these for sale made from everything from plastic to ceramic. I bought this one because it said it had 50% faster flow than other Neti Pots and its design made it easy to use (and it was ceramic which made it easy to clean). For me this did not work too well. The small spout allowed a lot of water to escape and drain that did not clean my sinuses. It was so much that I thought there was a leak in it. I tried several different head positions etc. and sometimes I got most of the water to flow right but it was not easy and the small spout had to really be pressed up into my nose. I have allergies and sinus rinsing has helped me a great deal and so I tried this. After all the difficulty I ordered the Himalayan version also sold on Amazon to try it. It made a tremendous difference right away. The larger spout has a smaller hole and there was virtually no excess water flow lost. As far as the 50% faster claim I found this version to be even more comfortable and the water flow was more even. If you want to use one of these on a daily or frequent basis I recommend the Himalayan Neti Pot. The prices are similar and both come in ceramic version. For safety sake however use distilled or boiled water. Tap water may not be free of microscopic organisms that are destroyed in the boiling process.

I had been using a plastic neti pot courtesy of a free Facebook give-a-way for about 5 months before Neti the Elephant came into my life. Full disclosure: I purchased this adorable sinus cleanser while very drunk and did not rediscover this decision for several days after. Luckily, this was probably the best black-out decision of my life. If you are patient and steady of hand there is no issue with spilling over the open top, and the flow is certainly faster and more efficient. My friends may have mocked me at the time, but I know deep down inside they're just jealous of this fabulous neti pot now. Highly recommended for both function and cuteness.

I had recently bought one of the cheap versions of this product, liked how it worked but was completely unsatisfied with how it worked with my nose. The end was too large, and I ended up getting most of the solution running down my face. With this Product, No more mess! It fits perfectly into my nose, and no more water all over my face! And I love that it has more flow power than the cheaper products! Defiantly worth the investment, The Ceramic Neti pot is the best product and I was reccomend this to anyone who is looking to by a neti pot!!!

I got this neti pot because it was ceramic and thought it would be easy to clean. I have been using a plastic neti pot thus far. I found this to be made for a child sized nostril because the spout goes inside my nose, where the plastic one has a bigger tip to rest outside the nostril and form a seal. I also did not find that it had a faster flow. Although its a cute little thing I won't be using it anymore.
