This little grinder is heaven-sent! It can easily grind spices from peppercorns and coriander seeds to leaf oregano and tiny seeds smoothly and with ease! The adjustment knob in the middle of the top can be easily tightened or loosened to adjust the grind which can be from coarse chunks to a fine powder. It will even grind mixed texture spices like Italian seasoning into a finer grind or a powder. It can grind coarse-grind ground black pepper into a fine dust! I received four grinders today, and ordered four more!

I really like this little grinder. It's sturdy, compact, and is very smooth when it's grinding. So far I've used it for flax seeds, and it grinds them very fine. Very satisfied and I'm going to purchase another.

This grinder is light and easy to use but it is really only suitable for pepper or herbs, not larger spices like allspice berries or cloves, etc.. I bought it to grind fresh allspice I bought the Caribbean but most of the berries are too large to fit into the grinding mechanism, so it is not useful for this purpose. Maybe spices bought from the store would be more uniform in size, but the idea of buying super fresh ones from the place they are grown is defeated if I can't grind them. I will have to find an alternative grinder.

Haven't tried it for pepper, it probably works awesome for that too, but anything u want finely ground it works amazing, and somehow takes little or no effort to turn. It definitely adjusts from course to ultra-fine.

I bought this grinder and a big bottle of whole peppercorns.

The grinder worked like a champ and I was well pleased for about two months,(except that it would not grind very coarse, as in cracked pepper) and then the whole plastic grinder assembly fell out. The assembly is only held together by three small plastic arms. Destined for failure.
It made it through one and a half grinder bottles of peppercorns and gave up the ghost.
You are better off buying a mallet and a pillowcase for crushing pepper.
I now have a small $15 wine glass. ( But it will not tip over.)
Very poor product.
Terry

I wanted a grinder for my flax seed, so I didn't want to buy one already filled with peppercorns. I also wanted it to be on the small side (it's just under 5" tall) because I had a specific kitchen drawer in mind for its home. By the description, I knew this would fulfill those two criteria. And it works wonderfully! At first, I was turning the lid back and forth, but that's not necessary. I can repeatedly turn the top in one direction, and my flax seed is ground quickly while my oatmeal is simmering. I would definitely buy a second one of these if I have another spice or seed I want to grind on a regular basis.
