Product Description

Just Water, ceramic drip filter works as well as the high end British ones only at a fraction of the cost! This filter removes water-borne bacterium with a 0.2 micron efficiency which exceeds NSF standards. Produces 14 gallons of drinking water per day. This system includes a ceramic filter, filter sock, and spigot. Simply double stack two clean five gallon buckets with lids, drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom of the top bucket and through the top of the bottom buckets lid, place sock over filter and install it in the bottom of the top bucket. Drill a 3/4" hole on the side and near the bottom of the bottom bucket and install the spigot. Fill the top bucket with water from a lake, rain, tap, river or stream and in an hour you will have bacteria free water to drink in the bottom bucket. Non-returnable, buckets not included. The filtration efficiency is 0.2 micron; removal capabilities as follows: 99% Arsenic 5 and 99% Arsenic 3 (special order) 99% Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S special order) 95% Chlorine and Chloramines 99% Taste 99% Odor 98% Aluminum 96% Iron 98% Lead 90% Pesticides 85% Herbicides 85% Insecticides 90% Rodenticides 85% Phenols 85% MTBE 85% Perchlorate 80% Trihalomethanes 95% Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons 99.999% of particles larger than 0.5 micron (Staffordshire University Labs) (includes Anthrax) 99.7% of particles larger than 0.3 micron (Staffordshire University Labs) 98% of particles larger than 0.2 micron (Staffordshire University Labs) 100% Giardia Lamblia 100% Cyclospora 100% removal of live Cryptosporidium (WRc Standard) 100% removal of Cryptosporidium (NSF Standard 53 - A.C. fine dust - 4 log challenge) 100% removal of E. Very simple to put together as well.

When you first get it, it will drip very slowly until it saturates, then it will speed up in the next day or so.

A couple of buckets and you are good to go.

The Just Water Ceramic Water Filter is a cost-effective means of providing safe drinking water during a major disaster that affects the culinary supply. I've not tested the system yet and I hope I never need it, but the concept appears to be good. It was recommended by some very knowledgeable people. It's designed for individual or family use where large volumes of drinking water aren't needed. The alternative to the Just Water system is to purchase a pricey back-packing system. The four star rating is selected because the price from other dealers is $29.99 rather than the much higher Amazon price. The speedy and reasonable shipping fees was the deciding factor in purchasing the system from Amazon.

A Sawyer Sawyer PointOne Emergency Water Filtration Kit with 1-Liter Light-Weight Durable Pouch is our basic portable system.

We added this Just Water Filter Kit for more capacity in our Stay-where-you-are system. Indeed, we considered a Berkey but could not envision enough improvement to justify the considerably higher price. Why pay for a stainless steel container good enough to last for 10 years of constant use when the most probable length of a water emergency is less than two months?

The Just Water Kit was quite easy to install on a 6-gallon food grade plastic container and lid. We used a small square plastic container originally holding dishwater soap for the unfiltered water container on top. It fit the 6-gallon container lid like a glove.

Highly recommend both products.

Our group took Three of these filters into Haiti to a mountain village with no safe drinking water available. we put two filters into a top 55 gallon drum to filter to the lower one. They brought water from the stream a mile away to fill the drum and within hours we were all drinking tge filtered water. They are now able to provide safe drinking water to the school students.

Our drinking water is heavy in iron from our well and appears red in color in quantities. We filter into jugs before drinking and it is clear! We use this every day and highly recommend it. I have it sitting off the floor just high enough where I can put a jug under it without having to hold it while it fills.
When you first get it, it will drip very slowly until it saturates, then it will speed up in the next day or so. After a couple of months, we noticed it had slowed down drastically and cleaned it with a toothbrush and it sped up very quickly. So much so that I hadn't realized how much I had gotten used to the slower rate that it had overflowed the bottom bucket by the next morning! That was my oops!
I am ordering more of these to keep on hand and am grateful for their affordable price compared to the other filters out there.
I went with this filter over the others due to price and the same filtering ability. I also like to support smaller companies like "Just Water". I've seen many other reviews too with others having great success with a starting water quality much worse than our own. The sock is designed to filter out cruddier water and isn't required to use the filter. In our case, we use it because of the reddish content in our water. To clean it, we just threw it in the washing machine and it came out just fine.
We are very pleased with this product.

A great filter. Relatively easy to install in buckets. Not real keen on the cover for the filter because it seems a little stiff to use. While the spigot is plastic it appears to be a quality product. So far I am very satisfied with this filter kit.

I love the filter... and coffee made with lake water is awesome. But the pre-filter 'sock' won't stay in place and it gets air in it. This prevents the water from getting to the filter. Fix this design flaw, please!

Haven't used it yet but seems pretty straight forward and should work well! I really like the ability to clean it and reuse it. Couple food safe buckets & lids pour the water in & out comes drinkable water! I lii in NW where there's lots water & usually don't have a problem but this is a just in case I can dip from local lake or stream & have good water!!!!

This filter really works. Makes pure drinking water out of questionable water.
It does, however, make it a bit slower than stated. Supposed to purify a gallon an hour. The most I got was 2 qts per hour but pleanty enough for two people.
