Book Description

Four worlds that cannot be visited.
Four worlds that must be visited.

Aliens are spying on Earth from one of the four worlds that make up the Warden Diamond. But it is impossible to send agents to any of the four worlds because of unique microscopic symbionts that make it impossible for visitors to leave the Diamond.

Seeking a unique solution, each of the four worlds making up the Diamond is sent a person whose mind has been stripped of everything and who is now controlled by an agent of the Confederacy.

Cerberus is the second planet to be visited. Qwin Zhang is stripped of her personality and left naked on the planet with her mind now occupied by one of the Confederacy’s best operatives. Can she/he survive long enough to find out the truth about the deadly planet known as Cerberus?

5.0 out of 5 stars I've been waiting for this series July 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been waiting for these to hit the Kindle since I bought it. These were some of the first sci-fi paperbacks I ever read, picking them up out of my dad's book storage boxes in the garage when I was just a kid. Great, compelling stories with a fascinating premise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four books with interesting viewpoints March 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There are four (4) books in the "Lords of the Diamond" series, all of which are not only entertaining, but also have a buried commentary on possible future civilization, penal systems, and the human condition in general. This is the second of the series. As such, while it can be read as a stand-alone, it is much more enjoyable when all four books are read as a series and in order.

Though the series is now 20 years old, and not written in the style of modern science fiction, it is still enjoyable for all age brackets. For those of us who are 'older' fans, the style and content reflect the science fiction we grew up reading. As such, fans of 'cyber punk' and modern themes may not enjoy it, but it is still worthy of reading and as a reflection of how the genre has changed since the original days of "Astounding" and such magazines.

4.0 out of 5 stars Far Fetched, but fun July 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The hardened assassin continues his task of dealing with the Four Lords of the Diamond while using another's body so as not to be affected by the Warden organism. Are the surrogates, who are affected by the Warden organism, beginning to have an impact on him, even tho they are clones of his mind?

Here is well written science fiction that develops plausible story line and consistent behavior within the constraints of the world in which the story takes place. Body switching could be a little creepy, and occasionally difficult to follow, but in the end, it all makes sense, in its own way.

One question lingers: Just what is the role of the friendly psychiatrist?

2.0 out of 5 stars Unconvincing character August 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this book based on positive online reviews. The main character was an unconvincing as apparently the best engineered assassin the current culture could produce. The central mystery of the story was transparent and the characterisation was rather shallow. I also read the 2nd book in the hope things might improve if I let things develop further but alas, even the second was weal and unconvincing.

4.0 out of 5 stars wonderful : start to finish September 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
One of four books that just keep better as you go. You could call it a sci -fi detective novel and be very close to truth. The four books have a great cumulative effect as they go. Give a try you"ll be glad you did
